Plantronics model 340. The battery keeps dying in this model headset, this is my wife's second headset in 8 months. Is there a trick to get more battery life from these headsets?
The battery on our Plantronics 340 headset has lasted for about 10 months. We are disappointed in the product since we paid high-end dollar for the unit and expected it to last as long as our cell-phone battery.

Re: Plantronics model 340. The battery keeps dying in...
Plantronics sells a pice of **** what works only a short time. For example any hearing aid you by you can replace the battery but here .....it is build that way for one reason.... they want you to by a new one and create more waste. Soluition: Do not by that brand!

Try these steps from the user guide and then pair up your headset to
the phone. "Before using, you must first charge your headset. 20
minutes = minimum charge. 2 hours = full charge. Light is solid red when
battery is charging. Press the control button for 2 seconds to power
on. Press the control button for 3 seconds to power off." If you're
still having problems, then it's time to get a new one, sorry.
This would usually happens only, if your BATTERY present is the BT headset is completely dry or worn out..
Try charging your headset for another 8 hours and try again, If its not charging you have to take it to plantronics service center to change the battery,
But mostly after charging for 8 hours, it would work.

Move the call control button up or down, the indicator light will flash blue if it's paired or blue and red. If it flashes blue and red you need to pair phone with the headset. the passkey is 0000.
When it is turned off, hold the main button in for 4 seconds until the light flashes red, the release. It should flash red and blue. This means it is in pairing mode.
This is answer of plantronics tehnical support: "Dear customer, Thank you for your-email and shown interest in our Plantronics range. *
If you would try the headset on the pc, would it work again. In other
terms is the headset refusing to switch on or simply refusing to
respond to the Nokia. * If the headset is showing a failure in
connecting even after 8 hours of charge, and even when undoing the
pairing and pairing it again and trying to connect - if possible to a
different mobile phone - then you are very welcome to claim a new
replacement within the 2 years of warranty via : http://service.plantro.com/service.aspx If you require our technical assistance, please fee free to ring our free support service : 0800 41 00 14 with kindest regards, your Plantronics customer service UK"
MIne connects to my phone and tells me it is connected but i do not get the headset picture on my mobile anymore, and when i make calls it isnt connected I still have to pick my phone up and use that.. Why should I have to do that when I bought it for that specific reason, I bought a Blueant one and it works perfect for three months..
Fix you problems plantronics and STOP using computer generated feedback!!! And get someone with more than half a Brain to sort this out.
I had to insert the charger plug very hard to start charging. Push it firmly till you hear a "clic" once you hear the clic, wait for a moment (you only need to do this the first time)
same as above
battery life short
