First verify your wireless password, I highly suggest you log into your router and change it to a pass phrase that's easy to remember, such as:

SecureWifipassword1

That's even overkill, but you get the point, easy to remember and easy to enter into smart devices.

SOURCE: fails to connect to ps3

I had a similar problem and managed to solve it by upgrading the firmware on my router to V4.01.37. Many sites also recommend changing to a numeric only password.

good luck

SOURCE: want to connect my psp online through my router.

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Wireless Settings (under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase.
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless computer to the router's wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new Password and click apply. You will then have to use the same Password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. If you cannot rate this post with the highest rating, then please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

How do you write an ASCII network encryption key?

Hello. Wireless security strength depends on the mode of encryption you are going to use (WEP, WPA-PSK [TKIP], WPA2-PSK [AES], WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]).
WPA-PSK should be enough to secure your Wireless network.

ASCII - Choose from any key available on the keyboardHexadecimal - Characters ( 0~9 and A~F)

  • Before setting up wireless security on the router, make sure the computer you are going to use to setup wireless security is directly connected to the router using an Ethernet cable(wired).

  • To setup wireless security on the router, access the router user by typing http://www.routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 in the address field of your browser and then press Enter.
  • Enter admin for the router user name and your password (or the default, password).
11_25_2011_5_49_11_am.png
  • Choose Wireless Settings from the Menu on the left.
11_25_2011_5_52_11_am.jpg
  • Select WPA-PSK under Security Options. Input the Passphrase.
Passphrase can be 8~63 Hexadecimal characters or 8~63 ASCII characters.
Take note of the passphrase then click Apply.
Hope this helps. Have a nice day.

The connection test fails and commes up with errorcode 51332

Hello,
This error is caused by the wii not being able to connect to its access point.
To solve this error :

Try changing the channel of your wireless router to either channel 1 or channel 11 which can increase download speeds.

If your router is using WEP encryption

  • Ensure your key is hexadecimal, consisting of 0-9 or A-F only, no other special characters or letters.
  • 64 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 10 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.
  • 128 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 26 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.
If your router is using WPA encryption, the Wii is compatible with :
  • WPA - PSK(TKIP)
  • WPA - PSK(AES)
  • WPA2 - PSK(AES)
If your router is using MAC filtering, ensure the Wii MAC address has been added to the list of approved MAC address on your wireless router settings.

Muddytrying to go to netflix, from my WII says my internet connection is not working, but my laptop in on and working.

Greetings,

Did you recently change your encryption or password on your wireless network? It may not work if you are not using one of the following encryption types:
  • WEP
  • WPA - PSK (TKIP)
  • WPA - PSK (AES)
  • WPA2 - PSK (AES)
Try re-entering your wireless settings on the Wii to match the settings on your laptop.

Can't get wii connected to internet, keeps asking for key code.

It could be that the encryption method on your router is not supported by the wii. It also may be that you are using WEP and trying to connect in the 2,3, or 4 spots. The wii for whatever reason can only connect to WEP in the number 1 slot. The Wii is also compatible with WPA types WPA - PSK (TKIP), WPA - PSK (AES), WPA2 - PSK (AES). Check your router and try again.

Connection to internet on wii system

try to set your channel to either 1 or 11.set also your router's broadcast setting to 'mixed'.place your wii near router with no interference from microwaves or such.if router setting is set up to allow only selected pc's (or mac addresses),don't forget to include wii's mac address to enable it to have access to the router.if your router password type is wpa, make sure also you know whether it's wpa-psk AES,wpa2-psk AES or wpa-psk TKIP,you need to consciously choose the right one on your wii internet setting.also, you could switch the dns ip addresses around like put 2nd ip address in primary and 1st ip address in secondary.no guarantees, hope this helps.
