It may just be the speed of your card or something related to that. I'm assuming your pressing the shutter button as your taking the movie and it's just not snapping the picture. I'm assuming also that the shutter button actually works to begin with

How do I increase the recording time on a Nikon Coolpixl830?

I do not own this camera. I will use common sense. Taking moves need lots of memory and lots of power. If you have a nearly full memory card or a weak battery your recording time will be limited. Taking movies in any camera runs the DSP (inside the camera) hard and fast. This causes excess heat. If the camera gets too hot it will stop taking movies. It is memory, power and temperature.

The photos from my Ricoh Caplio R4 are no longer sharp (they are blurred if anything). Lens is clean & undamaged, I have tried factory reset, new SD card, spare battery (just in case). Thanks in...

you seem to have a similar problem to the one I posted a couple of days ago John. Is your viewfinder image clear before you take your photo? Mine only takes clear shots if I move the sound/movie/camera button up and down a few times and actually see a clear image in the viewfinder before I take a shot. How you cure that is why I posted my query.

Kodak digital camera can not move movies off of its memory

OK this is a tough question please remember im not there so I cant make a 100% diagnosis to your problem. this is kind of like doing heart surgery over the PC. first you are going to have to update your software this is a problem with some of the older kodak drivers. next Im going to assume your video is in it's full resolution that's 720p HD WOW and you have 45minutes that's allot of file to move so its going to take time. your software is going to have to scan all of it before it moves it so lets say 2X that long over a usb cable 90min its probably going to look as if your computer is doing nothing if you have a slower computer. if you have a faster one it will be a little shorter of a wait but give it time you should be able to move it good luck if you have any more questions contact me I would be happy to help please don't forget to rate .

Cant get it off movie mode whats wrong

You can open the case (take the six small screws out two on the bottom and two on each side) Both the front and back will come off you may have to work it a little to get them apart. Look at the back and you will see a three position switch if it is to the far right move the switch to the center position and turn the camera on see if you are out of movie mode if you are verify that the plastic switch cover on the back of the case is not broken (it may just have been misaligned. If after moving the switch and you are still in movie mode you have a component problem and you will most likely need to send it in or buy a new camera. Hope this helped

Keeps re-focusing in video mode

Hi Graham,

this is quite normal, I have just tried that with my camera. Unless I do not move my camera at all, it is quite okay ( I was filming my parrots in a cage ) but if you move it, it needs to focus. It just is not made for serious filming, just occasional short movies. IF you think yours is too bad, make a short movie load it into youtobe and let me know. I will then try to see wether it is not ok.

Over exposure

Hey - have the same problem. All my still pictures are coming out overexposed, no matter what setting I use. Tried resetting, tried new battery, tried new memory card, tried different exposure settings. Nothing fixed it or affected it. However, my movie exposure works great so I can take movies just fine. Are you able to take movies with no overexposure?
