Printer doesn't respond

My printer doesn't respond at all. When I turn it on, I have a blinking light on the button for a few seconds, and after that - no connection between the printer and the pc could be astablished. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and nothing. What could be the reason?

Re: Printer doesn't respond

The Power light can flash for several reasons: - The printer cover is open. - The printer is out of paper. - There is a problem with the printer, such as a paper jam or a problem with a print cartridge. if no error message appears any where: 1. Go to maintenance . 2. Click any of the four main buttons. This will tell the software to check the status of the printer. 3. Read any error messages explaining the problem and its solution. good luck!

  • I take it you are refilling the toner cartridge...
  • Switch the printer off.
  • Press and hold the green button on your printer and turn the printer on. You will see that the lights flash for a moment and then turn off. After a few seconds, the attention light will turn on followed by ready light and the green light. Keep pressing the green button. In a few seconds, the attention light and the ready light will turn off.
  • Push the toner rotate button while you continue pressing the green button. As you briefly push the toner button, you will see the light flashing. Release both the toner button and the green button.
  • Repeatedly push the red button (cancel button). Now all the working lights on the printer will turn off.
  • Open and close the lid of HP printer once. The light will start blinking.
  • Press the green button. Your HP toner cartridge chip will be reset.

Continusly red green lights on and no action

if the print dialog window indicates that there is a printer malfunction, check the printer for any possible paper jams, then check that the printer cartridges are inserted properly. close the dialog window, and press the blinking button on the printer.

if that doesn't work, restart printer: either press on/off button or unplug the printer. wait 15 seconds, then turn on/plug in the printer.

    Service error 5100

    HI,

This issue could or could not be with the printer itself. Try these steps below.

    1. Turn off printer
    2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
    3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
    4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
    5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
    6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
    7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
    8. Run a test page, your printer should respond as normal.

If the steps above does not work for you, then you need to check printer for obstructions by checking the inside of your printer through the gears that you can see under the lid. There should be something obstructing the gears such as dirt. Also,
    1. Clean **** strip film.
    2. Clean **** strip film sensor (back of head carriage)(use contact cleaner).
    3. Fix purge unit.

    Printer error code 5100

I got error 5100 after a paper jam. There was a small piece of torn paper stuck in the gears, and I had to mess around and move the print cartridges back and forth to get seated back on the ink pads to the right of the printer (if you're looking at it from the front).
Reset the printer by powering it off for 10 seconds and try to repeat a test print.

I was able to get mine to work after a few tries. Good luck.

    5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
    6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
    7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
    8. Your printer should respond as normal..
