Kodak Z740 - can't read the disk

My camera read the internal memory. However, it does not acknowledge the memory card. I have tried the card in other cameras and tries a new card, so I am sure the card is not corrupt. My camera is about 2.5 years old and has been working fine until now.

Mine has same problem. Occassionally it tells me need to format memory card. I've tried reinserting the card, changing cards, shut-off and restart camera, nothing I do solves the problem. Later the problem goes away. Camera reads card normally.

Kodak camra reads unuseable memory card

What type and size memory card? The Z740 works with MMC and SD cards, up to 2GB in size. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Need help with moving pictures from internal Kodak Z740 to SD card

Hi.

You will need to use a computer, there is no option for direct transfer from internal memory to SD card.

Remove the SD card from inside the camera and connect the camera to the computer using an USB cable. With no SD card the computer will show the pictures stored in camera's internal memory. Copy the pictures in the internal memory in computer hard disk, then eventually move them onto the SD card.

Regards.

When i put a new memory card in, the camera reads "memory card needs formatting", but when i click format, it does nothing

While some Easyshare cameras will use SDHC cards, the documentation for the Z740 states that it uses MMC and SD cards.

Try using an SD card. If that works, then stay with SD cards. If that doesn't, then there's something else wrong.
