This is a common error for these Panasonic units. I work at an authorized Panasonic service center and have repaired many of these.
This error is caused by either 1 of these 2 problems, both of which will require service for replacement of parts.
1. The amplifier IC is bad and needs to be replaced.
2. There are a couple of smaller components in the amp circuit that need to be replaced. One is a zener diode and the other is a resistor.
The F61 error is caused by a bad amp circuit or power supply circuit. In most cases it is the amp circuit. More often than not, it is the zener diode and resistor that are bad. This would be preferable since the amplifier IC is very expensive and a total repair cost would be close to $200. The zener diode and resistor repair would be closer to about $100 depending on the rates of the service center.
I know this may not be the answer you were hoping to get, but it is the problem you have.

- Normally the demo mode would not come back on, but it would not be totally unusual if the unit was sitting for a while still plugged in and then the demo mode turns on. It is best if you unplug it and do not attempt to turn it on anymore until it is repaired. Every time you turn it on a surge of current goes thru the amplifier circuit and can cause more damage because the faulty parts are causing more of a current draw than what is normal, and that can cause other parts to short out from repeated excess current being pulled thru them since it would be more than the normal amount of current that they were designed for.
I hope this helps, and thank you for the FixYa! rating. It was very much appreciated. I hope you have a great day!
