Try dialing your fax number from another telephone and listen to see if the fax machine picks up. Likely what's happening is that your voice messaging is picking up before the fax machine has a chance to. You can get around this by changing the delay before the fax machine answers.
Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility. Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!
Please make sure the machine is set for auto-receive in machine set up and make sure the phone cord is plugged into the line jack on the machine. If this machine is not on a dedicated phone line the machine (rings) should be set to pick up before the answering machine does.
i have hp laserjet 3030. i cannot send or receive fax messages. i have checked with other machines as well. a beep sound is heard and there is no answer. my fax and phone lines are working fine.please help me as early as posible.
Any electrical disruption, interruption, disconnection can and will reset machine. If you have ANY KIND of telephone answering machine BEFORE the hp3030, then you have to tell (or command) the answering machine to pick up in 2 or 3 rings. Tell the hp3030 to pick in 4 to 5 rings. I am sure that you know that a fax has a different signal then a regular "talking" signal. If both try to pick up at the same time, u confuse the ' poor little thing '. Also:: take a look at all the wires going to the fax, telephone, answering and the wall output. Look for bent, cringed, cramped, twisted wires and replace if necessary. They will cause problems.
