My new Optiarc AD7261S doesn't want to write cd/dvds(no matter what kind of blank cd/dvds i use). I have Windows 7 ultimate build 7600. I can see my dvd drive in my conputer, i can read cd/dvd with him, i got the latest firmware on it 1.03, but still i can write any kind of blank cd/dvd with him(i use several programs for burning cd/dvds- and no result).

Hi there Windows 7 is not yet as official operating system, They start Official the 22 of october as you write. Right now they have a pre-sale on the ex e-bay :O)
Sounds like drive drive has took a dump on yah. I would just install a new dvd drive. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. I replaced a drive that was doing the same thing you discribed and it solved my issue.
