Halogen bulb in a Casa Vieja Probe ceiling fan?

How do you change the halogen bulb in a Casa Vieja Probe ceiling fan?

    I can't remove the cover for the halogen bulb on my Casa Vieja Probe ceiling fan. I try pushing up gently and twisting, as I was instructed, but the thing doesn't budge.

    I cannot open the bulb cover neither to change the bulb .

look on the side of the canopy there should be a slide switch. if moving this switch has no effect, then either the switch is faulty or the connections to it may have fallen off.

Take the light down - a two person job in case you dont know it. Find and remove the ballast. Take it to a electric supply store and get a replacement. Get a new lamp at the same time.

Newly replaced circular light bulbs flicker and strobe in Casa Vieja Ceiling fan and eventually burn out. Do I need to change ballast resistor?if so How do I change that?


Take the light down - a two person job in case you dont know it. Find and remove the ballast. Take it to a electric supply store and get a replacement. Get a new lamp at the same time.

sounds like the pull cord switch i dont thunk you will be able to find a replacement proberly cheaper to buy a new celing fan

I had the same issue. I had to replace the remote control reciever located on the fan and that did the trick.
