How do you change internal battery?

  • pmbodner Sep 15, 2008

The internal battery will not accept a charge from any source. While I could tolerate that and use it with the power from the car, it is very, very slow locating and acquiring satellites.

Will not turn on even if you charge it

How old is it? Be aware that it will not turn on with a dead battery, and lithium batteries lose 20% of capacity every year (under the best of circumstances, so it can go dead faster). After 4-5 years, the battery is useless.

The unit itself could also be dead. Keep in mind they are used under horrendous conditions (i.e. ''Summer Heat'').

Amcor 3500 will not turn on went dead, what could be wrong ?

Could be a bad connection where the power supply plugs into the gps or it could be a dead battery, or one that no longer will hold a charge. When this happens the gps unit will most often fail to power up. Check the battery and if it is dead and won't hold a charge, then change the battery. This should then clear up the problem. Hope this helps

Runs fine on external power. Does not work on batteries.

Hello :

It seems that the batteries are dead . You need to replace them . When battery is dead it can't be recharged anymore .
If that didn't fix the problem , then I recommend you to clean the batteries base where the batteries set with a q-tip and alcohol containing liquid .

PLEASE RATE !

REGARDS .

Battery goes dead after 3 hour use

As the battery charges and charges the charge time declines. You can get a high capacity battery for your garmin for about twenty dollars here:

Dead unit

My Quest2 has a short in it that drains the battery even when it is turned off. But the battery lasts normal 15 to 20 hours when fully charged and unit is on. Whenever the battery is completely dead, I have to place it on the charger for a hour or two before the unit will even start even though it is plugged plugged in. The battery can be replaced by the staff at batteries plus for under $60.00
