To my knowledge of my understanding i can see that your system all always heat up before working for a very few minutes and for that you have to check the Processors fan if it is rolling and if it is not then turn your system upside down and disaasembly the system and remove the fan that is not wor4king and replace with a new one and that give you your rest on your pc.

My laptop (lenovo g560) randomly shut down.

Try scanning your computer with radarsync to know which drivers are out-of-date. It has something to do with the device drivers for sure. Update the drivers using RadarSync.

If it still not going to fix the problem then check if there's a sign of overheating after it shuts down. You might want to get it opened by a technician so that he or she can clean the air passages and fans inside your computer.

M14x overheating

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

My Dell Inspiron 1525 keeps turning off while being used. It is usually when trying to play a online game or on Facebook. Could it be overheating? The keyboard seems to be getting a bit warm, but not any...

Download CPUIS's hardware Monitor ( it's free). Install and run. If the CPU temp gets higher than 60 C when idle or 85 at any time, you ahve an overheating issue. If CPU tem reaches 100 C, windows will shut down.

You may need to clean it up if you haven't done so in a while. Turn the laptop off, remove the AC charger cord and the battery. Remove the bottom cover and blow compressed air from a can (compressed air cans can be bought at Walmart, Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.). Be sure you remove all dust and lint. Check the fan can be easily moved with fingers. Replace cover, battery, AC charger cord and restart laptop. Check temp again.

BTW, if you're running 3D games, online or not, get yourself a desktop. Laptops are a bad choice for gaming, since videocards can reach 100 C during some heavily demanding 3D games.

My dell studio laptop (one month old) has problems playing dvds

It sounds like you have eliminated a media player problem.

Here are some more things you could try:

Disable your antivirus when playing the movie.

Have Dell replace CD/DVD drive. I got a bad drive in my new Latitude and they replaced it. It was a long phone prepared.

It could be overheating. Make sure you have good air flow under the notebook. They make notebook coolers which you can find with a web search.

If this helps please vote for my solution.

My acer 5738G shuts down abruptly when i start playing games. its not even a month now tht i have bought this laptop. what is the problem?

Hi again.
The Graphic adapter is nVidia GeForce G105M, the dedicated video memory is 512 MB.
The games you are playing require 512 MB minimum!!!
This means the the graphics card cannot handle the games you are playing because they are really made for a desktop PC.
The only way around this is to lower the resolution of the game so its not using the high end settings.
It won't look as good but at least you will be able to play them.
If you are a gamer i recommend you think about a gamers desktop computer as they are built for that.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
