Was running ac. Now blower won't come on for ac or heat. Error code 24 is displayed. Please advise. Would a blown fuse at ac unit cause blower to stop all together

yes the AC brain on most modern cars is BCM brain controls
and the brain does control the AC compressor. if that is dead so be AC, THE COMPRESSOR CLUTCH, is run by PCM RELAY.

AND 21 HOOD, BOTH MUST BE GOOD. and fuse 12 V6

SO WE KNOW THE TRANSISTOR IS off. IS CAUSE 1.

high/low switch and if wrong, tells the PCM to shut down its
Clutch solenoid to compressor ending all AC .
I am no sure what blower does.
but I can say this tell of blower works in heat mode or blower + no AC no HEAT mode. yes then the blower is not bad, nor the controller
what is wring is inputs to the controller are dead wrong
and not scanning the PCM after fuses is why you don't know.

transformer has a fuse buried in the windings making it impossible to change. It's new transformer time.

If the furnace won't run, check the electrical service panel for a blown fuse or tripped breaker. Also make sure the power switch on or near the furnace is turned on. Check the unit for a reset button and try it. Some units have a built-in breaker or fuse panel.
If there is not enough heat, raise the thermostat setting five degrees to see if it turns the unit on. If the unit still does not generate enough heat, check the comfort controls . Clean or replace a dirty filter, clean the blower assembly (see the Forced-Air Distribution Fix-It Guide), and make sure that all registers are open and not blocked.
If the furnace turns on and off repeatedly (cycles), clean or replace the filter; and clean the blower assembly (see Forced-Air Distribution Fix-It Guide).
If the furnace is noisy, make sure access panels are mounted and fastened securely; spray squeaking belts with fan-belt dressing and replace worn or damaged belts; adjust the blower belt; lubricate motor and blower oil ports.
If the element does not heat, refer to the Heating Element Fix-It Guide for guidance.

If this THERMAL fuse is blown it would not operate at all. If it runs but don't heat it probably is a limit or the heater. If you see a lot of junk in the vent pipe AND it still runs then the heater limits are gone. If the vent it clear but filter housing or blower has an issue then it won't run and the thermal fuse is gone bye bye.

Hello and welcome to FixYa! If you have overheating problem, it can lead to multipleissues. You may be running on low coolant that's why the vehicle overheats. Ifthat's the case, please add coolant and make sure that it sits on the rightlevel, too much coolant can cause overheating too for coolant will overflow. The vehicle may have a faulty or worn out radiator blowermotor that's why it overheats. If that's the case then you will need a blowermotor replacement to resolve the issue. If the radiator is clogged with dirt and rusts this issueoccurs too. The coolant doesn't flow normally on the cooling system if it'sclogged. If that's the case, I strongly suggest that you have the radiatorflushed to drain out dirt and rusts. If you think that the radiator served youenough then it's better to have it replaced. Please do check the radiator hoses, If you have worn outhoses it can cause coolant leakage which can result to overheating. A tiny holeis good enough for the vehicle to overheat. A faulty thermostat sensor can cause the issue too. If youhave worn out thermostat, the fan may not trigger that's why the fan won't workwhen under stressed conditions. A blown radiator blower fuse can cause thisissue too so I suggest that you check the radiator blower fuse and replace itwhen necessary. What causes the radiator blower fan fuse to blow? It's becauseof a failing radiator blower motor, If that's the case have the radiator blowerfan motor replaced. If the fluid in radiator doesn't circulate then it meansthat you have a blown head gasket or a faulty water pump. I suggest that you gofor the water pump replacement first specially if you think that it's near theend of it's service life. Blown Fuse

• Usually the first thing to inspect when the blower fan stops working is the fuses to see if any are blown. Locate the 10A cluster fuse or the 25A HVAC fuse in your car manual, and examine them to determine if they need replacing. The car owner's manual will tell you where to find the fuses that are connected to the heat and/or air conditioning. On the interior fuse panel of the car, a 30 amp fuse is labeled "Heater" or "HVAC."
  

Bad Blower MotorIf the fan only works on setting number 3 or 4, or just on the highest setting, it is most likely that your blower motor is failing and is about to die. Use a voltmeter to test the amount of voltage at the blower motor connector with your ignition on and AC running. If it reads 12V, the motor needs replacing.Automatic Climate Control SystemAnother thing that causes the blower fan to malfunction is the Automatic Climate Control System (ACCS). If the ACCS's settings are off, it may cause the fan to stop working. If it is the climate control on the car, typically it is a bad thermostat or electrical circuit that is the culprit.

That means you have lost 24 volts somewhere.

The most common causes for that are as follows.

1) a blown fuse. (usually a blade fuse mounted on the board)
2) a broken/loose/disconnected wire.
3) a bad 24V transformer.

When the unit loses control voltage (24V) it brings on the blower motor. This is done for safety reasons.

You have clean the blower unit , may be its dirty then . and then check the blower resistor unit for malfunction.

hmmm ...ok...we need to diagnose the brain...check fuses and relays ..anything related to a/c heat blower motor and power to head unit /blower resistor blower.... and advise..also... get code check to see if a soft code stored telling us the cause..... advise
