Hi,I understand it must be very frustrating if one is working at a time but not always!!! don't worry I will help. you have two solution ;)One is easy and quick but cant promise how long that will work :Pi.e go to printer page click on add a printer>> select virtual usb port>> select the printer manufacturer as HP >> printer name deskjet 990c and done when eva u will print through usb use this one that will help.NOW THE 2ND ONE:except the power cable disconnect all the cables and keep the printer on>> Insert the CD>> go under my computer/computers >> right click in CD drive>> explore >> util>> CCC> uninstall L2 >> restart the comp>> do a fresh installation dont plug the USB until unless it asks for it. WISH U ALL THE LUCK :D
install the driver as a local printer then go to the properties of the driver and click on the ports tab and click on add port click on standard tcpip and then new port enter the tcpip address click on lpr and enable byte counting and the print queue name is print click ok and apply it should print after that
This worked for me. You want to start fresh so delete your HP printer in "Printers and Faxes". Also delete any HP software that loaded in Control Panel "Add and Remove Programs". Next in Control Panel under "Add and Remove Programs", the "Add and Remove Windows Components" TAB, check mark the file to add called "Other Network File and Print Services". After clicking next, the extra print files will load. Reload your software/ HP drivers and it should be fine.
you can download the drivers from www.hp.com
simply select download the drivers and install them. You must not that the printer connected while doing this and insure you download the drivers for your operating system
This is most likely due to a driver fault. The "driver" is just a small piece of software that lets a computr communicate with other devices (peripherals). Disconnect the printer and put the CD in the computer (the CD that came with your printer) and follow the instructions. If no instructions or interface loads on the screen when you insert the CD then simply connect the printer to the computer...when the message box prompts you to specify what was connected to the computer, then browse for the driver by directing the brose option to the CD drive where the driver is located. If this fails or if it is too hard to do, then go to the canon website and go to their support page. Here you can download drivers for your inkjet by searching for the model. Once you have the corrct driver installed then:
In Windows XP, click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
In Windows 2000, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
In Windows XP, under Printer Tasks, click Add a printer.
In Windows 2000, double-click the Add Printer icon.
Follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard.
If you want to print a test page, make sure the printer is turned on and ready to print.
if you had the printer before using the USB cable. then you changed it to wireless, try the ff:
1. re-insert the CD the came with the box, the cd that you used to install the printer Software to your computer.
2. after inserting the cd, it will give you option "add a device".
3. click on that to install the printer driver for WIRELESS.
note: the reason why you cant print, is mainly because the printer driver you have is still for USB connection. so inorder for you to be able to print, you need to install a printer DRIVER for wireless... That should WORK..
