Question about Canon Sure Shot Z90W 35mm Point and Shoot Camera

1 Answer

Canon z90w mode setting

I have a z90w, but no manual. It is pretty self explanatory, but a few settings are mysterious. What is the RT setting? Also there is one on the other side of the ring, next to the macro setting that I have not figured out -- maybe landscape? Finally, how does one use the personal setting position? It looks like there are a couple of options using the mode button, but is that all, or is there a way to make a more complex adjustment of the personal setting?
Thanks for your help. (If you know where I could see or download a copy of the Canon z90w manual, that would of course be wonderful.)

Thank you very much for the link. That material does cover most of the questions I had.

I don't have a manual, but came across the following web page which should answer your questions for the most part.

I found a manual, though most former users have gone to digital.

How do i turn on the date and time stamp on my canon powershot SD 300

Set the Postcard Date Imprint. See page 74 of the manual: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0900001380/01/PSSD300200CUG-EN.pdf

However, this mode reduces the resolution so that you won't be able to make prints much larger than postcard size. If you want to set a higher resolution so you can make larger prints, then the camera won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them.

All is not lost, though. The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
