I have sound although I dont have an audio device I have searched the interent over and again looking for drivers. This I know is a simple fix yet I am going through hell trying to obtain. I am running xp home and if you can help or offer some assistance I would greatly appreciate thanks!!
Once installed, run it and click on the audio-icon button, under the device listing, it should show some kind of model number (i'm hoping), from there that might shed some insight into which drivers you need.
In the meantime, I will try and find drivers for the Creative Labs sound blaster card you list in the topic.

Do you have the CD driver?if you dont have the cd driver
you can download he driver by searching in google. but to do so, you must know the device name and model of your sound device.
If you dont know the name. Use this Software.
EVEREST Ultimate Edition -http://www.mediafire.com/?mmmymemydmj Download, Extract and Install this software. After installing run the program and enter the product key provided in the downloaded file. Now on the program Click " Multimedia " and and Click "HD Audio"you will the product name of the Audio Device like in this photo, Mine is Realtek ALC883 Now when you know the Name of your device...You can download it in Google then Install it in your Computer
If the sound quality is cheap, then you may try to uninstall and reinstall the audio driver. Go to start/type device manager on the search box/look for sound, video and game controller/uninstall the high definition driver or the audio drive, do not check the delete box. Once the driver is uninstalled, restart the NB. The audio driver will be reinstalled automatically once laptop is restarted. Then test the sound.
try this for windows click Start>Run.type (devmgmt.msc)click on any yellow question marks network adapters and sound. after selecting the +(expand) rigth click to update driver this will search your hdd and any cd media in the drives. also the inter-net for any further drivers you dont have.
Do u have built in soundcard or a bought one? If that is built in, just go to the site of maker of the mainboard, search with the model name of the mainboard, you should get the driver. If that is a bought one, Remove the cover of the CPU, look at the soundcard..look for the name of device part number. google with it..you should find the solution.
First Make sure your PC has access to the internet
Click "Start" --> "Control Panel" Double click on "System" --> "Hardware" --> "Device Manager" Search for your "Sound Card" under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" If there is a problem you will see an exclamation mark over the top of the symbol Right Click and Select "Update Driver" If you have the correct sound driver disk or driver disk that came with the pc insert this now and select "no not this time" then "install driver automatically" Alternatively Select "Yes this time only" to allow windows to search the internet If the driver is found windows will install it and may ask for a restart
If the updated driver is not found, follow the above instructions but do not select "Update Driver" select "Properties" and under the "General" tab your sound device and manufacturer is displayed
What kind of PC do you have? HP, Gateway, EMachines, etc...Go to thier website, and try to use thier software support. They should be able to help you with the driver if you know the model number of your PC. If you don't know, take the side of your case off, and look for the marking numbers on your MotherBoard, and Google search. It should find the manufacturer, and you can go to thier website for help with support, and downloads.
