Open sensor circuit or intermittent sensor connection. First you need to check the sensor, to test it disconnect power, pull the range or oven out then take off the back cover. Once off, you should see the two small wires that are from the sensor and you need to disconnect them (some have a plug but if you have to cut the wires). Now using your ohmmeter , measure resistance between the wires going to the sensor. It should be somewhere between 1050 and 1150 ohms. Note that this test should be done while the oven is at room temperature. If the sensor is open (or not within that range) replace sensor.. you did this but have seen bad sensors new, if not check the wiring between sensor and control. If you don't find any loose connections, the problem may be in the control board but the sensor is much cheaper, so testing with a ohmmeter and cking wiring will totally eliminate that. Sensors and control boards can be purchased at AppliancePartsPros.com
or Repairclinic.com. they who I use. they have online chat and 800# to talk with a tec. if needed before ordering or install questions.
Hopefully tis a bad new sensor or loose wire connection.
Hope this helps a little.

SOURCE: error codes F2 and F3

Two months ago I asked fixya about a g.e. oven with a f3 code. that evening a reply suggested I replace the oven sensor. I took the old one to the parts place, told the repairman about the code, and he told me the sensor WAS the problem. I replaced it, and WOW it fixed it! Today it faulted out again. I will pull it again and check it. It was installed correctly. The problem for a f3 fault IS the sensor.

SOURCE: Oven wont light

Mine did that and I found the ignitor for the oven was bad. It was the "glow" type for pilotless ignition and it was burned out. It is supposed to glow bright red and the gas comes on and the oven will light. It was easy to tell that it was bad. But to check it I swapped the broiler ignitor with the oven ignitor and the oven worked.

SOURCE: GE oven functional code F1 appears.

Hello, I come across this problem quite often, The f1 error code does not always follow that it is a bad EOC (Electronic oven control) This could also be a problem with the touchpad. The way to figure which is bad is turn electric off, access the EOC and pull the wire harness/ribbon tape for the touch pad. Reassemble the range and switch power back on. If you are still getting the F1 it is the EOC..If the F1 clears then your problem is with the Touchpad. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!! Mike

Frigidaire model FEF352CATB has a F3 error code

Hi - Typically error code F3 indicates a faulty sensor probe or wiring harness between sensor probe and EOC. Try resetting the range by unplugging it or flipping the circuit breaker off for two minutes (this usually will clear most false error codes). Turn on the range and if resetting the unit proves to be ineffective, I would recommend contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

I have a ge range jmp28got1w1 i was getting a f2 code i replaced the oven sensor iturned on the oven to 400 degrees and within 3 4 minutes i got a f3 code can you help?

Hi

F2/F3 Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hi, the F2 error code means that the oven is overheating for an unknown reason. F3 and F4 indicate a problem with the oven sensor, which usually requires replacing the sensor.

General Electric Radiant Slide-in Range JSP39: The oven does´nt work, in the screen appear F-3 very often, and inmediatly it gets off, sometimes appear F-2 and then gets off

These codes indicate an over temperature condition. The F2 & F3 error codes both mention the temp sensor. The temp sensor is mounted inside the oven cavity & regulates the oven set temperature. If the temp sensor fails the oven could overheat. This is what generates the error codes. I recommend having the temp sensor checked with an ohm meter, at room temperature the sensor should ohm out at approx 1100 ohms. If the sensor checks ok, then the control will need to be replaced.

Fault code F3, then F2

Well here's the details about those codes:
F2 :-
1. The oven temp has risen above 665F and the door is not locked or
2. The temp has risen above 965F with the door locked 1. Check oven temp in mode that failure occurred. Replace EOC (Electronic Oven Control) if above limits

F3:-
Oven temperature sensor is open (above 3000 ohms) Check resistance of oven temperature sensor, check for open wiring between oven temperature sensor

GE Wall Oven - error code F1

According to GE, the F1 fault code indicates a problem with the Electronic Range Control (ERC) Board. If the fault cannot be cleared, they recommend replacing the ERC and the touchpad. Has your repair guy tried any of these ideas? Post back with your comments, please.
