My dvd player did the same problem. and i solved this just with a screw driver:) if your dvd player s guaranty finished!! switch off the player and open the screws which r 2 on sides and 3 behind the dvd. open the cover and take off the two group of cables on the chipset which are on the mechanical part side! (mechanical side: dvd driver) than plug the cables again to their socket. its done! close all and go on ! i hope this will solve your problem as mine...

It sounds as if you have inadvertantly locked your dvd player. Try using the code 136900. If this passcode is accepted, then access the general setup menu (using your remote) and choose the Disc Unlock option.

I hope this helps. I completely relate to the frustration of this very problem.

My DVD 3005 is locked on a DVD do not know how it happened but obivously I have pushed the wrong button is there a common decode number I can use, I am unable to locate the manual for the player. Regards

I'm not sure whether this will work. Can you locate a small hole under the disc inserting outlet of your DVD player. If yes, push the eject button and insert a small pin well into the hole. The DVD struck in may come out in a few seconds.

Philips dvp 3020 dvd player

Hi,

Pls try a full master reset which if done correctly would revert the unit back to factory default:
1. Power on the unit;
2. open the front panel lid to have access to the controls;
3. simultaneously press and hold the channel up and down buttons;
4. wait till "BYE" is displayed;
5. wait till clock switches off;
6. power on again and re-configure.

You may need to restore "Region Free"
1. Power on the DVP 3005.
2. Bring up the System Menu.
3. Navigate to the Preferences page.
4. Press the following combination of keys on your remote in this order to bring up the secret menu showing the Region Code.
1 3 5 5 6 6.
5. Use the arrow keys on the remote control to change the Region. To make it region free, set the Region code to “0′ (zero).
6. Exit the System Menu.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Software upgradation

Its called firmware, and you would need it on a disc, you would have to get it from Philips or maybe their website.

Don't download firmware from anyone else but Philips.
