The part where I put the detergent, fab. softener, and bleach...is always full of water after it runs. It's mainly in the fab. softner/bleach area. I don't know why it's holding water???

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This is a common problem with many machines.
I suspect that it is the conditioner/softener tray which needs a thorough clean, paying particular attention to the sentences in BOLD
-------------------------------------
Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-

  • Top catch- push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
  • release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit) or
  • lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath.
Once out clean all of the tray but identify in particular which tray is for the conditioner- the others are simply 'chutes' and open-ended.
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube but on others the cover is part of the tray's plastic top. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I would like to know what laundry detergent and softner to use in my front load, and the right amount to use. I buy the H E products and some of them are really sudsy in the wash sink and I have this awful...

You should use HE detergent following the directions for that detergent. You can add liquid fabric softener. Make sure to fill the appropriate compartment to the Min line if you are doing a small load.

I've never used a washer that drained into a sink (always had a stand pipe). However, I suspect that the gummy residue is the excess softener that was removed in the rinse cycle. Try rinsing the sink with hot water after a laundry. This is part of the procedure to clean the inserts and detergent/bleach/fabric softener drawer when you get a build up in the drawer. In the future, use less fabric softener in the washer. Alternately, skip the fabric softener in the washer but use a dryer fabric softener.

The manuals for most Frigidaire appliances are available from http://www.frigidaire.com/manuals .
The direct link for the manual (in English) for the is: http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Webster/134609000een.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Just purchased daewoo washer DWD-WD1353RC..it seems the fabric softner is not dispensing and the detergent is barely used. I understand this machine usesHE detergents but it is using very little detergent...

this washer has different detergent concentration levels settings. 1.By holding delay wash then power button at the same time, while unit is off. then a C1,C2,C3 are main detergent concentration settings C1 being regular HE detergent and C3 being very concentrated some detergents tell you X2, X3 S1,S2 are softener B1,B2 are bleach 2. Then use buttons Delay wash to scroll for main detergent Extra rinse for softener Bleach for bleach 3. power button to exit and confirm
hope this helps also in manual and to clean tanks, Manual says to call a 1800# or find the instructions on the web. I've had this washer for a week no problems yet

When to add softner during wash

Hello, the softener is added during rinse circle but bleach needs to be added at the beginning. First add the detergent, then let the water get it nice and sudsy, then add the bleach then the cloths. It is when you get to the rinse circle that you add the softener.

Thanks

GE WSXH208AWW doesn't dispense detergent, softner or bleach. Dispenser is totally dry after wash cycle.Appears no water gets to tray.

I'm having almost the same problem - the bleach & softener both will NOT dispense, but (LUCKILY) the detergent does dispense on mine, for now.

In order to get the solutions (bleach, softener, detergent) to go into the washer, the water needs to pour through the dispenser somehow. Dry means NOT working (mothmanmeg).

I need help, too!! We tried taking the drawer out & cleaning, no luck.

Can I use color safe bleach in my new cabrio, and if so where do I put it?

According to the manual on pages 12 & 13.

1.
Place a load of sorted clothes into the washer. See “Laundry
Tips.”
■ Load evenly to maintain washer balance. Mix large and
small items. Items should move easily through the wash
water.
■ Load only to the top of the basket as shown. Overloading
can cause poor cleaning. Items need to move easily
through the wash water.
2. Pour measured powdered or liquid High Efficiency detergent
into the detergent dispenser. Always use the detergent
dispenser, and do not put detergent directly onto clothes in
the washer.
3. Add color-safe bleach (powdered or liquid) to this dispenser,
if needed. Be sure to match powdered color-safe bleach with
powdered detergent or match liquid color-safe bleach with
liquid detergent.
4. Pour measured liquid chlorine bleach into the liquid chlorine
bleach dispenser, if needed. Bleach is diluted and
automatically dispensed at the proper time during the wash
cycle.
■ Do not overfill. Do not dilute. Do not use more than 1 cup
(250 mL) for a full load. Use less with a smaller load size.
■ Follow the garment and the chlorine bleach
manufacturer’s directions for proper use.
■ To avoid spilling, use a cup with a pouring spout. Do not
let bleach splash, drip, or run down into the washer basket.
■ At the end of the cycle, a small amount of water may be
left in the dispenser. This is normal.
NOTE: Use only liquid chlorine bleach in this dispenser.

5. Pour measured liquid fabric softener into the fabric softener
dispenser, if desired.
■ Do not overfill. The dispenser holds 3 oz (94 mL), or a
capful of fabric softener.
■ The fabric softener is dispensed in the final rinse. If Extra
Rinse is selected, the fabric softener will be dispensed
during the Extra Rinse.
■ Do not spill or drip any fabric softener onto the clothes.
■ At the end of the cycle, a small amount of water may be
left in the dispenser. This is normal.
NOTE: Use only liquid fabric softener in this dispenser.
6. Close the washer lid.
7. Press POWER. This turns on the washer display.
8. Select a Wash Cycle. See “Cycles.”
9. Select the desired Modifiers. See “Modifiers.”
10. Select an Option, if desired. See “Options.”
11. Select Delay Wash, if desired. See “Delay Wash” in the
“Modifiers” section.
12. Press START. The wash cycle begins, and the display shows
the estimated remaining time. The lid will lock.
NOTE: If you do not press Start within 5 minutes of pressing
Power, the washer automatically shuts off.

The way that I read the manual, your color safe bleach would go in the detergent dispenser. Your liquid chlorine bleach would go in the bleach dispenser.

Fabric softner is building up in dispenser

Same deal - I have to soak up all the residual water in the softener dispenser between washes. (The detergent and bleach compartments are fine).

Bleach and softener dispensers filled with water at end of cycle

Yes, remove the dispenser tray by pressing on the button on the softner and pulling out tray completely. Now lift the flap over the softner compartment and clean thourougly with hot water, making sure all tubes and holes are free from residue softner/detergents. Replace flap by making sure the bigger tube fits OVER the smaller tube and click into place. Replace tray. Water is present due to the "syphon effect" of the dispenser not working, caused by residue detergents blocking the tubes/holes. Oshie
