SCARY!! BLUE SCREEN AND RESTARTING LAPTOP,

Hi, I just bought a laptop brand new 5 weeks ago, it is a
Hp Compaq Presario V3000

a couple days in, I believe a virus went on it, and now whenever I On my Laptop it comes up with the screen

Choose start windows normally
safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
and ect

When I pick any of them the same thing happens... the windows xp screen pops up and then a blue screen appears for a split second and then it restarts and follows the same cycle!

I Dont have ANY valuable files on my laptop so wiping out everything and making it brand new is a option

the f11 system recovery didnt work because it wont let me get into it , as soon as i hit f11 nothing happens f10 works it gets me into this other thing but no system recovery

I tried reinstalling windows xp back on to it in hopes of wiping everything out but 3 minites into installing a bluescreen appears again saying somthing about hardware.

I really would like to know if there is a program out there that i can burn on cd that will reformat all my hard drives then install windows xp on it

and i also took it to warranty but they said they couldnt do anything as it is not under there obligation of the contract

PLEASSSSSE HELP , im outta of options , any programs that will help!!!!!

Somehow, the problem could be on a faulty hardware. If you could try posting the technical info on why the OS truncated the process of your system in some way we could pin point the origin of the faulty hardware.

Now, on your second attempt in installing, you encountered the error:

technical info

STOP : 0*00000007E

pci.sys - address F76120BF bast at F760B000 , datetamp 3b7d855c

You could get around this error by finding another WinXp installer with SP2. If it still doesn't work, try looking for another kind of WinXp installer with SP2 with a different version.

Goodluck!

As long as isn't a hardware incompatibility problem or some loose components or broken, it's their problem!...I mean, if you have the warranty, it's their obligation to fix it.

But if you're lucky, the problem could be with the Windows XP that you've just installed.Try and find another windows XP to install.

If you want, you could install Windows XP Unlimited
I have it right now installed on my laptop and it's really usefull.Try downloading this, nurn the image on a CD and install it and you'll see the difference ;) Good luck!

Do a basic test:

1-Drain the battery
2-Take off the battery from the battery socket

If the problems continue:

Get another charger/cable and plug it.If yes Your MOBO is bad.

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Can i get V3000 motherboard CD of compaq?

Absolutely! Just contact HP. (HP bought out Compaq)
Go to HP.com/Support, and on this page click on Contact HP.

Here is the HP.com/Support page,
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
In the upper left corner you will see -> Contact HP.
Click on it.
Now you're on the Customer Service/Contact HP page.

I would advise calling HP. Much faster than email, and you'll get direct customer service by talking to a nice representative. (Really! Very nice people!)

Look under the heading in Orange -> Call HP
Click on the Blue -> Technical support after you buy.
It's a toll free number. 1-800-334-5144.

You'll need some specific information for YOUR laptop. This way you'll be assured to get THE Restoration Disk, for YOUR laptop.
(Their term is -> Recovery Disk)
You know you have a Compaq Presario V3000, but you need the exact model number.
You'll find this information located on the bottom of your laptop, in a white -> Service Tag.
Here's more information,
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&dest_page=product&docname=c00033108&product=212728

I purchased a Recovery Disk for a friends Compaq desktop, about 2 years ago. (Saved me a bunch of hassle with installing a new O/S) The disk was free. The shipping and handling was not. $17 for a 5 to 7 day ship, $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.
(After you install the disk, it will come to a place that asks if you want to do a Fresh Install, or a Repair. Do a Repair)
