Checked internal wiring and found that when the machine went out of balance the counter balance on the top of the agitator drum had squashed the power wire against the the top rib of the frame causing the wire to short circuit and blow the power fuses to the house.
rejoined the power witr and relocated it above the rib frame so as to eliminate any further possibility of this happening again.
I believe this is either a design fault with the machine or it was incorrectly installed at the time of manufacture

Why is my washing machine tripping my main fuse box even when I change the plug socket

by "tripping main fuse" do you mean the high amp (eg 60 amp or 100 amp) fuse that feeds the whole fuse box? if that is the case, there is too much stuff on in your house that's drawing power. The fuse box is too small to power all the stuff you have plugged in and running. Suggest turning off other high draw appliances in the house, like large TVs or microwaves or air conditioners, when running the washing machine.

ok I assume from what you are say that the circuit breaker in the consumer unit (fuse box) trips it could be that the circuit breaker is beginning to fail (they can go weak after prolonged use) and will tend to be a problem on high load appliances the water heater will take around 12.4 amps as will the dryer heater get the circuit breaker changed

No power to Whirlpool awo/d5727. I have checked the fuse and the socket but still have no power.

You say you checked "socket" and the "fuse," did you mean the AC wall outlet (115V) and a fuse or breaker in the main power panel?
Nearly all circuits involving water are protected by a Ground Fault Interrupter that can be servicing several wall outlets (perhaps one not near the washing machine) or can be located as part of a circuit breaker in your main power panel.
The GFI outlets will have one or two push buttons located between the outlets and a combination GFI/overcurrent breaker will also have at least one button where others will have none.
If you find one that is tripped, try resetting it. If it will not reset, unplug the washing machine and try again.
If it now stays on, your machine may have an electrical path causing it to trip and using an unprotected outlet may be unsafe and an indication that the appliance itself may have electrical leakage which could be otherwise dangerous.
The circuit breakers in the main power panel can also fail (they didn't 20 years ago) and we have replaced 3 in a home only 5 years old already so they are not made well anymore.

Our washing machine does not work at all. No power. Replaced timer and still nothing. We have model number 3XWTW5705SWO. Could it be the in line fuse?

I would suggest getting/obtaining a schematic diagram, your washing machine may incorporate a out of balance switch, or your water level censor switch ether on of thees can cause your fault, most likely your fault is the water level censor, it is the disk shape unit with the plastic hose connected to it at the bottom and wire connections to the top.

Oven not working - rest of appliance fine

It is most likely that the oven heating element has failed and will need to be replaced.

This not an overly expensive part to have replaced and should be much less than the cost of buying a new oven although you would need to compare actual costs in your area.

Hotpoint WD51 fuse issue

is it the motor that got hot?, if so then check the motor carbons for wear, as these heat up when worn, also if the carbons are fine check the pump and filters for blockages, this makes the motor spin while water is still in the machine causing the motor to overheat, and subsequently tripping and blowing the fuses etc hope i have helped a little

Hot point washing machine WMA 32

It's unusual for a household RCD to go out on excess current from an appliance - the fuse in the plug top and circuit fuse/MCB in the consumer unit should provide closer protection. This leaves you with an earth fault. Earth faults aren't usually related to motor load. Watch carefully what phase of the cycle the trip happens. Does it correlate with the start of water heating? A very frequent cause of low current earth faults is water ingress into the heating element. If you can trip the RCD reliably on every cycle, running the same cycle with the element disconnected would confirm whether or not this is the cause. A.
