This because your ACER laptop having higher resolution than your monitor. Please lower your ACER laptop resolution as low as possible then try again.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Mostly, monitors are auto-detected and just "plug-n-Play". Did you try to press Fn+F3/F4 (Toggle Monitor)?

get a higher resulation contained monitor like 24" or newer version led 22", then go to the display properties option & less down the screen resulation & restart the pc.

May I ask to what you mean by "adjust the resolution in safe mode, this has not helped"?
Did you set it to native resolution of this monitor? Unless it has problem inside the monitor, try it with another PC also.

Make sure that you have selected the right input on your monitor. Usually laptops have an analog output (a plug with 15 prongs in 3 rows), and thus you need to select analog input on your monitor.
Also when you press the appropriate key combination on your laptop (usually Fn + F8), wait, say, 15 seconds for reaction before you press it again - it takes some time for the monitor to come back from power saving mode.

Depends on the Computer. Some have a 15 pin on-board video - in which you can buy a 15 pin to HDMI adapter. Others have video cards with DVI outputs - in which you can buy a DVI to HDMI adapter. Or you can buy a video card to supoorts an HDMI output.

Frontech external Miracle TV tuner not working with LCD(ACER 15") monitor. Error msg "input format not suppoting". But CRT monitor (samsung 14") is working with the same.
