Question about Compal DL70-TVT w/TV Tuner Remote 15.4 915G WSXGA+ AT1 128MB PC Notebook
Accidentally installed an incorrect driver from what i can see. a sis udma driver. so i have primary and secondary ide plus a udma driver. the dvd/cd rom is no longer recognized.
My question.... did the dvd die (which seems possible) or would it just be a conflict with the udma driver.
operating sytem is xp pro
I will answer any other requests for information that is required as promptly as i can.
Thanks for your time.
Well in this case... its definitely a conflict... even if you un-installed the Udma drivers..... issue will be existing....
so... first you have to un-install the Udma drivers then.... reseat the cables on dvd..... your work would be done...

Try deleting the incorrect driver, then do a search for hardware. If that doesn't work, go to your computer manufacturer's website and download and install the correct driver to your cd/dvd. Then restart your computer. Your cd/dvd drive should be recognized then.
