I have a Amana Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model BC20ML that is about 20 yr.s old, works fine except the drain tube from refrig. compartment to evaporator drain pan sames to be plugged. Water and ice builds up in the bottom of the freezer floor. How do I gain access to it? Is it from the back, freezer, or what?

You have to remove the bottom drawer, remove one of the drawer slider mounts on the freezer wall, and remove the rear panel. If yours has an ice maker you will have to disconnect it and remove it also. Unplug it so the water valve does not dump water on you while you are working inside.

My model is ARB 1914 CC nine years old.

your "damper vent door" located between the refrigerator and freezer compartments is frozen open or the cold adjustment contron in the refrige is bad and not powering the door as you change the temp set for the refrige and leaving it open,if the door is frozen from ice/frost just de-ice it with a hair dryer and then set the temp adjust and see if it opens and closes with any adjustment

Our 3 yr old LG Model LFC25760SW French door refrigerator over freezer is forming ice on the bottom of the freezer compartment, beneath the drawer. The ice maker switch is off. The water is coming from the...

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Water pools under the veggie crisper

yoor problem is with the drain, when your refrig goes into self defrost the water melted from the defrost needs some where to go. There is a drain for this purpose....it is normally a tube that leads from the rear of freezer to pan by compressor. when this gets blocked the water has nowhere to go except into the freezer vent and down the bottom of the refridge compartment. you will need to clear the blockage in the drain tube...if you are still haveing a problem i can tell you how.

Frost inside and ice on floor of freezer

The water can only come from 2 places, the drain is blocked or the ice maker is over filling. The temps are too good to have any other things going wrong. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Not blowing cold air

Most likely evaporator coils are iced near solid...few hours unplugged would have helped just a little...needs major defrosting though.
The automatic defrost cycle will never fix it when it gets this bad...if it's still working yet.

I have one of these and have had to use heat gun/ hair dryer more than once to defrost it.

Probably the cause...which will need fixed or it will do it again sooner or latter...is the melted frost/ice goes down a little drain tube and dumps into tray to evaporate above coils...this tube gets plugged first with dust and then when melted frost drains and stands in tube the tube get plugged with frozen water.

You see it is important to unplug or fridge will self destruct.

Layer of ice in freezer. How do I access drainage tube to clear i

It is in the freezer compartment but you can try accessing  it from the bottom where it goes into the drip pan. Try using a can of compressed air with a straw held tightly with your fingers and blow out the line backwards.
Not a lot of infor ar pictures in you manual . It does say to make sure it is level and shows hot to do so. See below:

11 year old amana bottom freezer icemaker drips water when filling tray

Hello dunc444444
Welcome,
You said, Bottom freezer works fine, but upper refrigerator has no cold air

Is your freezer so full that it is packed to the top especially in the rear?
Refrigerators and freezers share the air from the compressor and travel through vents in the rear of the freezer and fridge.
Sometimes it can effect the cooling in the fridge if the freezer articles block the vents!

The water overfilling in the ice maker is an ice maker problem only.
When we install an ice maker there is a short white plastic tube that we push through the rear
hole of the fridge which supply's the water to the maker, the outside water line attaches to this.
That tube we push through the fridge must go in till it stops. And empties in to a little sistran at the rear of the ice maker. Make sure it did not sip out or backwards a little when you may have moved
rolled the fridge out to clean under it!

Also you need periodically to remove the front grill down in front of the fridge and gently run a refrigerator brush under the coils to clean out the dust that may block air flow over the coils.(the coils are metal black tubes that run back and forth along the bottom of your fridge.
The vacuum will not reach in to that tight space. That's why they make a special brush for this chore.
Let me know how you do?
