I cant hear anything from my laptop speakers when on the internet

u have to check the problem area :
u first use a head phone and check that is it work or not
if it work that means problem in ur speaker means hardware problem otherwise reinstall the sound drivers acording to ur sound card applied.

Can not hear sound

The thinkpads have a sound key on the keyboard. usually operated by holding down the FN key and pressing the key with the (think its blue) speaker symbol on it. Make sure this is on and the volume is turned up.

Also check that the volume under the Sound option in control panel is on.

If these are suggest obtaining latest sound drivers from IBM web site and reinstalling them.

Your internet signal comes from a box connected to the telephone line (usually). A wire comes out, but where doe sit go to?
Does it go to another box with a little antenna on it? If yes, than that box is the router. If not, than when you connect your internet via cable, the wires should come directly rom that box, correct?
In last case you have a wireless modem.

Either way, you have w\a wireless connection as well, bets way to check the connection is to have somebody else with a laptop, give them your settings and see if it works. If it doesnot work, your connection might need a hard reset.simply unplug the powerplug from the socket of the box where internet comes in your house and leave it out for about 10 seconds. Than plug it back in.

To check if your laptop is OK richt click on My computer and select properties fromthe menu. click on the tab hardware and click on device (the upper button) It will shows you a list of all devices in your PC and if somethign is wrong, you will see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it (!). Most of the times you need to reinstall your drivers to have it solved. If there are no exclamation marks, your laptop is fine.

Let me know what you have tried and what the outcome was.

Wireless Internet connectivity not working.

Does it recognize your wireless network?
I your wireless switched on on the laptop, most laptop have a separate small switch to swicth on/off the wireless option, indicated by a small antenna with some waves.
Does it recognise any wireless network at all?
Try connect to a hotspot or unsecured network to see if that works. Double check all settings for your own network in your router and your laptop. 1 typo in a security password can be enough to be unable to connect.
