Question about Brother MFC-465CN InkJet Printer

3 Answers

My Brother MFC-465CN is printing text with alignment off and double text.

The pages I am printing seem to be clear quality, but the text is off, almost like double text, where the same word is printed over twice making everything unreadable and unsightly. I cleaned my printer heads and did and alignment check but when i am asked for the correct alignment the one it is set to is the closest (still off) and not giving adequate results at all. Please help, it woudl be much appreciated.

Connection was deffinitely not the problem. Tested and this was proven false, this i belive has to do with something mechanically, possibly?

My Brother printer MFC-465cn is doing the same thing. I have workaround / worked-around it by disabling bi-directional printing. Then print is clear. It's as if the head is shifting an irregular amount on the opposite direction, like the head is loose.

Same for copies. If I use the PC interface to make copies, I can set the copy printing to be mono-directional, then copies are clear.

How do I fix double printing

Not sure what you mean by double printing.

Is it printing a ghost of what you print further down the page. Or is it mis-aligning the characters so it appears to have a shadow on each character?

Im not completly sure this applies to your mfc brother. remove all paper. turn on machine. select"menu" "0" "6" this resets it . you will have to re-due your personal setting otherwise it goes to defalt at time of purchase.

I have not been using the Brother MFC 465CN printer for a while. Bought and installed new cartridges, cleaned the print head several times (from the printer menu option). But, nothing is getting printed....

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

The printer quality is very poor, it is like there is no black ink in the cartridge (which is full). I think there is a faulty on the roller. There is a consistant line through the text.

Have you tried cleaning the print head? There will be an option in the printer control software to do this. Look at your manual or online help.

Head cleaning is a process that the printer will perform itself - it prints one or more pages in a process designed to clear any ink blockages on the print head of the cartridge.

If the printer is seldom used this is likely to be the solution.

Brother mfc 465cn printer

If you remove the empty cartridge, you will see a small window on the egde that plugs into the printer, in the center. This is where the printer optically scans for ink levels. On the empty color cart, you can try covering that raised spline with electrical tape or by coloring it with a black permanent marker. That should fool the sensor into thinking your ink is full.

Brother MFC-210c prints some lines blurred, letters stacked - alignment ok.

i have the same problem. repeated cleanings seem to help, when i print large fonts they come out pretty clear, but the smaller the font, the worse the blurring. 600 DPI prints mismatching patterns, but 1200 DPI prints perfectly fine. so i have found that printing on "fine" quality instead of "fast" or "normal" quality improves print quality ALOT. it uses more ink, but i am in business and need to be able to read very fine print!
