SOURCE: How do I remove the third row seat. lever wont budge
I just fixed my dad's 04 suburban with the back seat's #1 lever not budging. It's a surprisingly simple fix: take a 5 inch flat head screw driver and as you look into the slot where the #1 handle goes, you will see a wheel mechanism that it is connected too. to the left of that wheel, you will see a hammer mechanism with a cord attached to it. all you have to do is carefully push the lever with the screw driver while gently lifting up on the handle.
Hope this helps!
SOURCE: middle row back seats...how can
first fold them flat then pull the handle which will release the rear bottom brackets and allow you to pull back and lift the entire seat out of the van....both seats.
SOURCE: third row seats
A little plastic bumper, located on a metal tab on the inside of the bottom seat cushions breaks off. It is supposed to hit the seat back release and allow the back to fold down when you push the bottom cusion in all the way. I finally just bent the metal tab up so it would hit the release and that fixed it. (Look for the broken palstic pieces under the seat cusion area as an indication) The dealer replaced the plastic part several times... a waste of time.

Yes, they are made with a third row seat option. You might find a seat to match your interior in a salvage yard.
SOURCE: Mounting third row seat in 2008 Suburban 1FL, LS 1500 - Fleet veh
I drive a 2008 Suburban LT and my company has a true work "fleet" suburban. The only difference between these two that I have is the back of the fleet vehicle has a thick rubber mat in the back with no seats. After removing the black mat I found that the channels and rods that the rear seats clip into are present. The third row seats are installed by clipping them in no bolts or tools are required.
