you have to install the driver for it ...if it isnt already installed...and if you do not see it into the hardware list is maybe cause its either not installed and or ...deactivated ... you can find it ...by runnung add new hardware wizard from control pannel ...and choose the already attached but not yet installed...and you will find it ...the only issue if it is a buyilt in cam ...it might need t reactivate it ...and the easy way to do it is to restore the bios setings to the optimal defaults ..( F9 and save F10)...tjhis will encurage ..your computer to see all devices that are atached but not yet installed... first install the driver and see after thyat if it sees it auto ..or you will have to run the add new hardware wizzard.. Good luck !
I had the same problem with the Extensa 5420-5687 as well, I went to the device manager and found my crystal eye webcam (there was a yellow exclaimation point on it) I tried to update the driver software by having it search automatically for the software, but it just said that it was up to date...that still didnt fix my problem. So i tried browsing my computer for the driver. I picked "let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer" I then clicked on "Acer crystal eye webcam" then i hit next, it then installed the updated driver. After that my webcam worked again!
