Clicking open windows

With this mouse I have just started getting problems. When I open a new window with the mouse, I am unable to click anything within the window and the taskbar ends up locking up and I cannot click anything in the taskbar. I tried to install a driver on the logitech site, but they don't offer anything with vista. Any suggestions?

This mouse does not require a driver. It works with the innate Vista driver. This product originally shipped with either iTouch or MouseWare, which are not compatible with Vista. I strongly recommend to uninstall iTouch and/or MouseWare prior to migrating to Windows Vista. After iTouch and MouseWare are uninstalled, the basic functionality of your devices will be provided by the Windows native driver.

I have a manhattan wireless mouse, model number 176811. the pointer works fine but when i double left click to open anything nothing happens, i have to hit the button 3 or sometimes 4 times to open file??

You may not be double clicking fast enough. In the Windows System Control Panel, there is a Mouse Settings control panel. You can adjust the double click rate in the Mouse Settings control panel.

Unable to right click to delete item

The clicker on the mouse has a plastic mount, if that breaks it stops registering the clicks. The plastic doesn't glue well and the part is not worth replacing. It's maybe a $10 mouse.

You can however reverse the buttons using the mouse option in the control panel of Windows and use the left mouse button instead to get by. At least until you get around to buying a new one. The enter key also often works in lieu of a right click when opening programs and Windows.

Mouse sometimes double clicks so that it opens 2 things at a time, what is causing that. It also seems to be sticking I have to press it a couple of times to get it to click

You need to go into the control panel and choose the mouse icon.
From there you can set the double-click speed. They give you a little box to click to calibrate the click speed.

My Logitech LX5 wireless optical mouse has never worked properly

hi im josh in cebu phils.may i help you? Friend try my gathered solutions. This problem has a simple solution—replace your batteries! Low batteries in a wireless device will cause all sorts of problems. In a mouse, this typically means that the cursor slows down, jerks around, or seems to hit an invisible wall. Fresh batteries should fix things right up.
If new batteries don't fix the problem, you have some sort of wireless interference. Try moving the wireless receiver to a new position—preferably away from other wireless devices (wireless network adapters/base stations, cordless phones, baby monitors, and the like). If interference continues, see if you can change transmitting/receiving channels on one of the devices, or consider turning off the interfering device while you're computing. Good luck friend hope i helped you.

Keyboard and mouse not working when windows starts

Hi there.
While you are in the operating system, unplug both the USB devices, then plug them back in, let windows recognize the new hardware and install it for you, this can take a couple of minutes, once it says hardware is installed and ready to use reboot the PC and see if you can use the keyboard and mouse while in the OS.
please post back with any more problems

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!

Not on after pc comes out of sleep mode

Hi,
it's not a hardware-problem - it's a windows feature smile_wink.gif - (and it really is one !) - please try this:
To prevent a USB mouse from waking your PC

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.

2. In the list of device categories, expand Mice and other pointing devices.

3. Right-click the entry for the USB mouse, and then click Properties.

4. On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow this device to wake the computer check box.

5. Click OK.
Don't forget to do this with your mouse + keyboard !

Wireless mouse problems - responding incorrectly

Try to reinstall Normal 0 Disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Mouse freezes

I had the same problem. The following solution from 3M support fixed it. We Normally see this problem on laptop computers running Windows XP. There is a power management setting in the Device Manager, which controls the USB Root Hub. Often this setting is selected to "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". When control of the mouse is needed again, the computer is unable to turn the device back on. To remove this power management feature follow the instructions below. 1. Right click on the "My Computer" Icon on your Windows Desktop 2. Select "Properties" from the Menu 3. Click on the "Hardware" tab in the system properties window 4. Click on the "Device Manager" button 5. Click on the (+) plus sign next to "Universal Serial Bus Controller" in the Device Manager 6. Locate the "USB Root Hub" (Note: there may be more than one, and you will need to change all of them), double-click on the "USB Root Hub" to access the properties windows for that device. 7. Click on the "Power Management" tab 8. Remove the checkmark from the box containing the following option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" 9. Click "ok" 10. Close the Device Manager and all other open Windows Test the Mouse to be sure that the new settings are working. You should now be able to leave the mouse unused without it being turned off by the operation system.
