-   I want to recover my old pictures in my samsung digimax s500 digital camera because I like see my some pictures that I deletd accident and I want to recover now!-   emisha
I know this is an old post, but for others that read this, it's no problem at all to get deleted photos and videos back. Please see this post for several other free software options that you can download:
Any data recovery tool that can reach the card as a drive (in a reader, for example) should be able to recover the picture data. There are also specialized photo recovery tools such as PhotoRescue(http://www.datarescue.com/).
OS-level format and recovery tools not specifically intended for photo media will likely mess the card up for digicam use, so be sure you have(or buy) a reader that includes the SMPREP.EXE reformatting utility.

The PDC 640 seems to have a common problem with the camera port for downloading from the camera to computer. This small port on the upper side of the camera becomes loose over time and then when you plug in the cable it pushes in and makes it impossible to download pics with the cable. After the first repair/exchange with Polaroid (cost $50), I learned it was cheaper to by a used PDC 640. However I now have 3 of them with the same problem. I am trying to find out how to take off the outside case of the camera in order to see if this loose part can be super glued in place to make the camera operational again. Do you have an exploded view or know how to take the cover off to get to this side area which contains the port as well as where you insert the smart card. Thanks, Gary
