please expand on the problem you are having. if you mean will a particular router work with vista... ?.

What you need to be more concerned about is if you use wireless with your computer. check to make sure that belkin provides drivers for your card that work with vista.

You can connect to any XP pc to a Vista pc, using adhoc (joining two together via ethernet cable to share files and internet connection) or via a router.

Windows vista can't recognize my sony dv camera

If it is a Digital Video camera such as a Sony Digital 8, then it will not work with Vista. The output signal is analog even though the camera is digital. If it is a MiniDV it should work. You may have to connect it through Firewire, Component, or RCA inputs for it to work.

How to determine what your computers IP address is

How to determine what your computers local IP address is

Applies to Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7

1. Click Start - Run

2. Next enter "CMD" and click OK

3. Next at the command prompt type "ipconfig" and press enter

At this point all your active connections will list on the screen. Note you may need to scroll back up the window to get to the connection info you need. Also keep in mine if you are connected to your wired or wireless connection because both might have an IP address assigned but you can only be actively connected to one at a time not both.

4. Look under the Local Area Connection if connected to your network via a wired connection or Wireless Network Connection if connecting via a wreless connection.

Once under the right connection you will want to look for the line that shows "IP Address" this will have what the computers current IP Address is. Note if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 it will be listed as "IPv4 Address". Also while you are here take note to what the "Default Gateway" is because if you are trying to network computers together you want to make sure they are connecting to the right network.

Help My Sandisk U3 Locks up vista SP1 useing intel 920i

Very well could be due to the fact your running 64bit Vista. I would try shutting the computer off, connect the U3,then turn on the computer. Sometimes the drives come with software that could be causing the problem also due to the try to install themselves when connected. You could also try booting up in safe mode. Press F5 repeatedly when the computer is booting up and this will take you to a menu that you can choose the safe mode option and try to connect the drive in this mode. You can then load/disable files or software on the drive that may be the cause of the problem. Also try the drive in another computer if possible and if it works try getting the firmware update from the sandisk website. It is possible the drive itself could be bad.

Drive not recognized under Vista Home Premium 64-bit

I have seen drives not recognized for a few reasons. Bad drives, drives not jumpered correctly or full-disk encryption was used on them. Here are my thoughts:
Try making sure that the drive is jumpered to Master. Should be a jumper on the back of the drive.
Make sure you did not encrypt the hard drive using full disk encryption.
I use an USB IDE drive enclosure when recovering customer's data using a Vista computer and have not had any issues other than the ones mentioned above.
Let us know if this helps or what you find out.

I had a home network set up between 2 Dell Dimensions computers Computer 1.) which as the broadband modem and Netgear Router on it "this computer is a windows xp". Computer 2.) with the Belkin...

Assuming you can't get it to run from the desktop icon, as long as the driver is installed which it should be, you don't need Belkin software to run your connection.

the easiest way in Vista is to go to control panel>network and sharing centre and see if network discovery is ticked green.

If not on top left of window is connect to a network, then see if your wireless connection is listed, if so click connect, if not at the bottom of the window, click set up a connection or network and follow the wizard.

Sorry for the late response been busy lately, have you also tried turning off the password protected sharing on your Windows Vista computer? Since you mentioned you have a wireless router, are both computers connected wirelessly?
