'Hold' button problem

With my hold switch toggled to off, once in a while the device will flicker between hold and un-hold. Like i said the hold switch is not engaged. I think it may be an internal hardware problem, where the switch is making some contact even when it is switched not to.

My ipod nano is frozin and i cant un frees it i tried evrey thange and it seas device not found.

Ok i have looked into the Issue you are having and concluded that the most likely solution is to reset the device, to do so follow these steps:
1: Place the device on a flat, level surface 2: Toggle the Lock/Hold switch to the LOCK position, then place it in the UNLOCK position 3: Finally, press and hold both the Play/Pause and the Menu buttons AT THE SAME TIME until the Apple logo appears onscreen

Ipod froze request me to go to www.apple.com/support/ipod

There are three reset variations for ipod's, depending on how old they are:

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds.
Or:

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Middle buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds.
Or:

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds.
I hope that helps.

I plugged in my i pod and came back a hour later and the screen was black and was frozen and none of the buttons would work

you will need to reset your ipod this will not delete songs. 1 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (slide it to HOLD and then back again).
2 Press and hold Menu and the Center button for at least 6 seconds, until the
Apple logo appears.
If iPod nano won’t turn on or respond
â Make sure the Hold switch isn’t set to HOLD.
â The iPod nano battery might need to be recharged. Connect iPod nano to your
computer or to an Apple USB Power Adapter and let the battery recharge. Look for
the lightning bolt icon on the iPod nano screen to verify that iPod nano is receiving
a charge.
To charge the battery, connect iPod nano to a USB 2.0 port on your computer.

You need to reset it, just hold down the middle button and the "menu" button for about 7-8 seconds, or until the apple logo appears.
Hope this helps.

Radio for Sandisk model SDMX1

Press the AB button to toggle between Audio Play, Radio, and Voice Record. Use the left/right scroll to highlight Radio. Then press the center button or play/pause button once to select radio.

You will see FM Radio in the upper left corner of the display. Under that you will see either Preset followed by a number OR Channel. If it is on Preset, you can use the left/right scroll to switch between preset stations. If you press and hold the AB button, the player will scan through all frequencies to find the strongest stations in your area and set those as the default preset stations. When on a particular station, press and hold the record button to delete that station from your presets.

Press the center button once to switch to Channel (or back to Preset). Under Channel, you can manually scroll through the frequencies yourself. Push left or right and hold for about a second to find the next available station.

Press the play/pause button once to toggle between Mono and Stereo.

Those are all the functions I've found so far. Hope it helps.

Good luck,
vw

Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

Ipod always on hold

My 2 GB nano shows the lock icon no matter how many times I toggle the hold switch on and off and press the Menu/Select buttons. I've recharged and restored it any number of times with no luck. Computer recognizes it when I plug it in but once I unplug it, none of the buttons work. When it's plugged in and fully updated, it shows the languages menu. I'll be eternally grateful to anyone who can offer any assistance!
