Picking a replacement power supply is tricky if you don't know the process, and the exact specs of the supply you are trying to replace. You would be much better off just buying one listed for your model PS2, like this one:

Brand new power supply for $16.95 and usually ships the next day. Something like this you would have no chance of damaging your unit.

Thanks,

How to setup online gamming

You need to have a wired connection. Plug one end of a ethernet (cat5/cat6) into one of your router's ports. Plug the other into the back of the PS2. You will have to sign up for a free Playstation Network account.

Wrong multi-tap

I allowed my 11 year old to do it and now it works!

Which multitap do I buy?

There were two versions of the multi-tap made; one for the original fat PS2 and a smaller version made for the slim. The two versions are incompatible with the other PS2. If you have the original multi-tap connected to the slim, it should throw out the 'controller disconnected' message when you boot up. The slim version of the multi-tap should have a sticker on the bottom saying 'only works with models SCPH-70000, SCPH-75001, SCPH-75002'.

Other than the sports games, I don't recall any titles that allow more than two players anyway.

PS2 bad power supply

Greetings Xwrongwayx,

My suggestion is if it will plug into the newer unit, then it is fine to utilize the older power supply. I have two different PS2 units, and we use the cords for either to plug the units in.

I hope this helps!

Playstation 2 console

Hi Ron, To the best of my Troubleshooting knowledge on the Slim, this sounds like a Temperature problem. Do not lay the Slim on the carpet when playing and try not to keep it in sunlight. It will last you much longer to shut it off when not using it. Let it cool off and try it again. If dust is the culprit, you will need to disassemble the Slim and clean it out, mainly the fan. The Slims fan is very succeptable to dust accumulation. www.playstationclinic.com
