I have the same issue! Everything is in working order with my iPhone (including screen touch, sleep button, etc.) However, the home button will not respond! I have to "restart" just to get back to my home screen. This just happened....so frustrating.

Ususally it's a broken or corroded connector membrane strip on the iphone menu button and it needs to be cleaned or replaced. there is an iphone repair tutorial that will guide you through the steps of taking it apart the part is readily available on ebay.

Problem imei corrupt and restart after 30sec

Restart iPhone

Sometimes all it takes is a restart for the iPhone to become responsive again. To restart your iPhone when it is unresponsive, press and hold the sleep/wake and home buttons until the Apple logo appears (~10 seconds).

Very low battery

It is possible for an iPhone to become unresponsive if the battery drops to an extremely low level. Plug the iPhone into your computer or wall charger and allow it to charge for at least 20 minutes before using it again.
The IC regulator power supply inside can be Short, go to repair.
IMEI nothing to see with the problem.

My iphone wont rebbot

have you tried this?
  1. Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.
  2. Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
  3. Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
  4. When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting.
If this doesn't work, connect it to the computer with iTunes and restore the software.

I erased all content and settings on my jailbroken iphone 3g and now its stuck on the start up screen

Plug the iphone into your computer and restore the phone using itunes. If the computer won't recognize the phone put it in DFU mode by doing the following.
    1. Hold the lock/unlock button for 10 seconds. 2. Continue holding the lock/unlock button and also hold the home button for 10 seconds. 3. Release the lock/unlock button and continue holding the home button for 10 seconds.
After the connect to itunes screen appears on the phone, plug it in and attempt to restore again.

I locked my iphone 4 couid not recall the code how to open it

To restore, you need to enter recovery mode, connect the phone to the pc and press and hold the Power button and the Home button simultaneously. After about 15 sec phone will appear to turn off, release the Power button but keep holding the Home button. After about 15 sec the computer and iTunes will detect the phone in recovery mode, and then you can perform a restore.
    I hope this helps, Dan
