I have a MEDIA TECH 2200 converter box and remote, problem no manual cannot program to my television. can you help?

i had the same problem, sort of. i have the mediatech 2200 converter box without the remote and no instructions. although i havent found the instructions for it yet, i did find a remote that supports all the functions that converter uses. you will need to get a newelectronx remote. it was the only one that i found would work and i tried a few universal remotes wal mart and the 99 cent store but those didnt access all the mediatech functions. i hope this can help someone else that was in my shoes.

Trying to get a remote system working on my D60?

You need to set the release mode to one of the remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the shutter release button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before the shutter fires.

For full details see the "Self-Timer and Remote Control Modes" section of the manual (begins on page 55 in my copy).

How do i use the nikon remote

When the shooting information display is shown, press the [i] button (the bottom one on the left) to switch to the quick settings display. Use the cursor pad to select the shooting mode (fifth item from the top along the right edge) and press OK. Use the cursor pad to select one of the two release modes. The quick response remote mode (marked with an icon of the remote control) fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode (marked with the remote icon and "2s" gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

Full details are "Releasing the Shutter" section of the manual (starting on page 54 in my copy).

Remote Firing of Flash Units

The EOS 40D does not have a transmitter built in. The remote flash units must be set to "Slave" and the on-camera external flash unit (eg Speedlite 580EX) or transmitter (ST-E2) set to "Master". Note that the Speedlite 430EX doesn't have the function to act as Master and you need a minimum or the 580EX or a ST-E2 speedlite transmitter (or similar) as Master/s.

Remote timers?

Hey tmcbk,
Unfortunately Nikon does not make a compatible remote release for this camera. What I do if I don't have a remote release for the camera is use the self timer function on the camera. Instructions on how to do this are on page 26 of your user manual. I hope this helps!

Go Ahead. Use Us.

What do i do

If images cannot be downloaded from the camera to a Macintosh, check the status of the camera and the Macintosh and resolve the problem accordingly.

1) Check the status of the camera and Macintosh.
1. Connect your camera to the Macintosh and turn the camera on.
2. Open the "Applications" folder on the Macintosh HD.
3. Double-click "Image Capture".
* If the "Imaging device not connected" message appears, follow the steps described in [Checking the connection between the camera and PC].
4. Select "Preferences" from the "Image Capture" menu.
5. The procedure for using the Image Capture Preferences window differs depending on the OS version used. Use the correct procedure for your version of Mac OS.
- Mac OS 10.4: Click "General" in the Image Capture Preferences window.
- Mac OS 10.3: Click "Camera" in the Image Capture Preferences window.
- Mac OS 10.2: Simply proceed to the next step.
6. In "Items launched at camera connection", select "FPVBridge" and then click the [OK] button.
* If FPVBridge is not among the displayed items, follow the steps in [Displaying FPVBridge] below.
7. Quit "Image Capture".

If you implement the above procedure up to step 6, FinePix Viewer launches automatically.
* To stop FinePix Viewer from launching automatically, follow the steps in [FinePix Viewer Setup] below.

2) Resolving the problem
[Checking the connection between the camera and PC]
1. Plug the USB cable into the camera and Macintosh again.
* If you are using a USB hub, do not connect the camera to the Macintosh via the hub.

[Displaying FPVBridge]
1. Select "Other".
2. Click the "Applications" folder.
3. Click the "FinePix Viewer" folder.
4. Select "FPVBridge" and click "Open".
5. Click [OK].

[FinePix Viewer Setup]
1. Launch FinePix Viewer.
2. Select "Automatic Save Settings" in the Settings menu.
3. Tick the "Auto save images when the camera is connected" checkbox in "Operation Settings When Camera Is Connected".
4. Click [OK] and close the "Automatic Save Settings" window.
5. Exit FinePix Viewer.
6. Turn the camera off and then on again to test whether FinePix Viewer launches automatically.
