Question about Acer Aspire T310 PC Desktop

1 Answer

I installed a creative xtreme audio card under xp. All works fine, except Youtube. With Youtube you get a burst of sound, then the video slows to a crawl, the audio just gurgles, and the mouse reponse drops to practically nil. I have done a clean boot several times and re-installed flash. It doesn't help. The Internet speed is definitely high enough for streaming. I am running other computers and devices with no streaming problems.

When this happen it is often a problem with the compression codes used by youtube streaming. Often they are not being managed if the browser is not up to date.

Check that the video card is installed properly and can play movies, for example test a DVD.

Try updating Internet Explorer: Internet Explorer: Get It Now

Check also this info from Youtube.

I know that you also installed Flash player already, if updating IE did not work, try also reinstallling Flash player again from here.
If other movies are working the problem is necessarily with Browser, browser plugins (eg Flash) and browser settings.

Youtube use few codecs and they all come on IE7.

Try downloading the Registry Fix for Flash player
http://depositfiles.com/en/files/1492978

OR

  1. Download and install K-Lite Codec Pack version 3.3.0 Full from here or here, or choose other versions from more mirrors here. You can deselect most components that you don’t need, except Codec Tweak Tool under the Tools section.
  2. After installed, click on Start button, then go to All Programs-> K-Lite Codec Pack -> Configuration -> Codec Tweak Tool.ded8f20.jpg
  3. In the Codec Tweak Tool window, tick the check box next to [Registry] Fix non-working system sound.

Trying to install a Creative X-FI Xtreme PCI card (Model # SB0792) on an Inspiron 1100 (the 2.5GHz Celery model, Dell mobo #OWF887, A01 BIOS) - device is brand new, but on installation the card isn't...

Windows should recognize it and ask you to intall a driver for it. Make sure it is secure in the slot and make sure you are using the correct slot. If it still does not recognize it then the card is most likely bad.

I have a creative sound card and i want its sound driver pls tell me what to do vijay

Look at the model number on the Creative sound card. You want to match up the correct drivers.

Once you find it go to Creative Worldwide Support,

http://support.creative.com/

A) Click on the SoundBlaster icon.

B) Click on the soundcard icon that matches yours. I'm going to click on the X-Fi Xtreme Audio icon to use for an example.

Here on the next page we see we are presented with two driver choices.

1) Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio driver 1.04.0090

and,

2) Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio pack 1.04.0079

The 1.04.0090 audio driver is for Vista, and Windows 7.
It also contains the Creative Audio console.
Click on Show Details to the right for more information.

The 1.04.0079 audio pack is for Windows XP, and Vista.
It also has the Creative Audio Console.
Click on Show Details to the right for more information.

When you have the applicable choice, click on the red Download.

On the next page read the Creative Software License Agreement, then click on Agree.

A small window will come up. Write down the file name.
For example I am looking at Opening XFXA_PCDRV_LB_1_04_0079

The file name is > XFXA_PCDRV_LB_1_04_0079.exe

This is the file name I will look for.

Click on Save File.

A small window will come up on the left.
Quickly look at the heading of this window.
This is where the file will download to.

Look for My Documents, (Documents for Vista), or Downloads, or Desktop, in the heading.

Close all windows, go back to the desktop screen. See the file name?

NO?
Click on Start > then click on My Documents. (WinXP)

Don't see the file name there?
Look for a folder named Downloads.
Double-click on the Downloads folder name look for the file name.

When you see the file name double-click on it. Follow the easy instructions of the Installation Wizard.
(Essentially just click on Next, Next, and Finish. Then restart your computer.

What sound cards will work with Windows 7

Are you using the latest driver ? If yes then maybe it's an corrupted one - uninstall it, run a system cleaner and download (as in  Save, not Run) the latest one from
http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&CatName=sound+blaster&subCatID=208&subCatName=X-Fi&prodID=14066&prodName=X-Fi+XtremeMusic
After the download has ended close the browser and launch the installer.
