The error "tS" actually means the thermistor is shorted. It flashes when the thermistor is indeed shorted, the thermistor wires are shorted, or the timer/control is faulty. There's no necessity to reset the machine. The problem here is not the thermistor but a shorted wire or a faulty timer/control. One simple way to find out is by disconnecting the thermistor and insulating the wire terminals then starting the dryer. If the error code does not vanish, then it is proven with moral certainty that there is a wire short circuit or a timer/control problem. Check and make sure that there's no such wire short circuit or no part of which is touching the dryer cabinet then if the error is still there, disconnect the wire harness from the the timer control. The timer/control is indeed faulty if the error code persists even after the wire harness is disconnected therefrom.

You have a faulty thermistor if the error code vanishes after the thermistor is disconnected. Normal thermistor resistance is around 10000 ohms at room temperature.

Im got problem with my copier machine model ricoh 1027,sc code 542..i no problem with fuser temp..after i clear code sc, same problem happen..so am don't no how to solve this problem .please help me to...

If you can tell that the fuser is trying to heat up then you are going to have to replace the thermistors. The thermistors or thermisters are 2 parts in the fuser that "read" the fuser temperature. When 1 or both go bad then the machine can not "see" the heat and thus throws the code. Ricoh's in particular have more issues with the thermisters than other brands. Here is a link to a site that has the thermistors and a picture of what they look like.

I have a xerox machine for ricoh mp 1600 le. now i have a error of 542. so please tel me what is the problem of xerox machin?

SC542 code on Ricoh's means that the fuser unit is not heating up properly. The fusing unit is the part that "fuses" or fixes the toner onto the paper and is located right where the paper exits your machine. Most of the time the SC542 code means that the thermister(s) in the fusing unit have failed. The thermister measures the temperature in the fusing unit. When these go bad the machine can not "see" the unit heating up so it throws the code. The thermisters will need to be replaced and the code cleared out from the machines memory by gong into the service mode. I would recommend calling your local service provider to effect repairs.

Check to see if your thermistor is bad by measure the resistance. It should be 10K Ohms at room temperature.
If it's bad, replace it BUT you have to CLEAR to error code.
1. Enter to Service Mode by press CHIME and TEMPERATURE keys for 3 seconds or until 3 beeps are heard.
2. Access Diagnostic Codes by pressing WRINKLE PREVENT. A d will be displayed. Rotate the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB in either direction to read it.
3. Press SENSOR DRY and TIME keys for 3 seconds to clear it.
4. Power OFF to exit Service Mode
5. Power ON

That is actually a Ts error.

Thermistor Short Sensed

The Thermistor resistance is very low.
Check for:
- Clogged lint screen.
- Restricted vent system.
- Check Thermistor resistance.

Thermistor is Item #27 HERE

Press "clear mode", "107", then pres and hold down "clear/stop" key, then choice "copier SP" then enter "5810" press enter, select 1, then press"R/#" key and "original type" key at same time to reset, try it and let me know the result. after reset just turn power off and back on.

Savin C3030

SC 553 is a fuser overheat error. If you have a fuser great, but you will still have to reset the code. Clear modes, 1, 0 ,7, press and hold clear/stop key. Menu will change, select copy sp. From there, select 5, (mode), scroll till you get to 5810. Select it, and press execute, then exit back to copy sp. Select 7 (data log) then scroll until you get to 7807. Select it, and press execute. Exit all of the way out, and recycle the power.

If it comes to ready, great. Try it. If it codes out again, you have a problem, possibly thermisters, (in the fuser), power supply getting stuck on, I/O board not regulating the power supply. Could be any of these things.

But start by resetting the code. Could be a a thermister got some toner stuck under it, and the other thermister detected a difference. It really could be that easy.

Konica 7020 Printer

HI,
you need to reset the fuser latch as it has a fuser error code most likely needs new thermisters,
anyways give this a go, hold down 2 and 5 keys together and power on machine, this will put you into to a service mode call 25 mode, go to dip switch 3 and bit 1 and then next to bit 1 hit the key that says turn off,
turn machine off and back on should clear error code, if it doesnt you need new thermisters, even when you put in new thermisters you still need to clear this error in service mode
