Sherwood Rd-6505 hisses from both speakers

The soft hiss that you are hearing from both speakers of your Sherwood RD-6505 may be caused by a few different factors:
  1. Ground loop: A ground loop occurs when there are two or more devices connected to a common ground, causing a voltage difference between the grounds. This voltage difference can create interference, resulting in a hissing sound.
  2. Faulty cable or connection: Check all of the connections and cables between your audio source and the Sherwood RD-6505. Make sure that they are plugged in securely and that the cables are in good condition. A faulty cable or connection can create interference and result in a hissing sound.
  3. Amplifier issue: The hissing sound may also be caused by an issue with the amplifier circuitry in the Sherwood RD-6505. If this is the case, you may need to take the device to a professional for repair.
  4. Power issue: If the power supply of the Sherwood RD-6505 is unstable, it can also result in a hissing sound. Check the power supply and ensure that it is providing the appropriate voltage.
If you have checked all of these potential causes and are still experiencing the hissing sound, it may be best to contact a professional for further diagnosis and repair.

Sherwood RD 6506 - centre speaker not working

Hi,

If the speakers work during the test, then the issue might be with how surround sound is programmed on your tv. You should look into your sound settings with your tv's remote. Thank you.

Cuts off by itself-volume at 28 and higher

Strange problem.

I'd get it replaced. It sounds to me like an internal programming fault, meaning only the experts can fix it.

Take it to a hifi shop (preferably the one where you bought it), explain the problem and ask if they'll take a look. If you're lucky, they'll fix it with no charge, if you're unlucky, they'll incurr a small fee.

Digiatal input indicator keep flasing

The flashing digital input for DVD means its digtial input is either not connected or not transmiiting. If yoy still hear the DVD it is probably because you also have the analog cables attached. Is that right?

If you had both attached the receiver would opt for digital over analog but would default to analog if the digital signal was not there.

If you can connect the DVD's digital cable you will get actual 5.1 surround sound from DVD.

No Sound

O1 is the OPTICAL input. C1 is the COAX input. Try pressing the DIGITAL INPUT button to cycle to the analog mode.
