I updated my PS3 because it told me it would not run without and update and now it doesn't recognize the controller... CECHP01 used the latest update 3.66 (it asked for 2.76 or later.)

PS3's will sometimes loose their connection to the controllers. I have always fixed this problem with these steps:

1. Make sure the system is off (red light)
2. plug the control in with the usb cable
3. press the PS button in the middle of the controller (this will let the console relearn the controller)
4. once the lights on the front of the controller are not blinking red anymore, and have a single green light indicating which player the controller has taken, hold the PS button and turn off the system
5. once the system is off, unplug the usb cable
6. the controller should work without the cable now. (check by pressing the PS button to turn the system back on

Controllers will lose their connection to the PS3 when they die completely, during updates, power outages, etc. I don't know what exactly causes it, but I have had to do this process several times since I got my PS3.

Thanks,
John Vickers

I have emachines el1360-ur30p running windows 7 and doesn't recognize cd/dvd

Hello,

Was it working fine before? If it does, then you would need to update the driver for your DVD.. Or you might have an outdated DVD driver. You can use RadarSync to update it.

My emachines el1360 doesn't recognize cd/dvd

Try going to safe mode. Restart your computer and tap f8. Use the arrow key to highlight safe mode, and once you are inside safe mode. Try running the dvd or insert the sd card. If it runs well, then install RadarSync or any automatic PC updater then update the drivers. You can also manually update them by going to the website of your computer's manufacturer. Look for support and download.

First of all, update your java runtime environment software to the latest version for here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Then update your Adobe flash player software to the latest version.
For Internet Explorer you need this update:
http://majorgeeks.com/Adobe_Flash_Player_for_Internet_Explorer_d5163.html

For Firefox, Netscape, Opera and Chrome use this update:
http://majorgeeks.com/Adobe_Flash_Player_for_Firefox_Mozilla_Netscape_Opera_d7806.html

If that doesn't fix it you might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:
http://majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_TDSSKiller_d6895.html

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:
http://majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
http://majorgeeks.com/Avira_AntiVir_Personal_-_FREE_Antivirus_d955.html
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira...

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

If that doesn't work then Call Zynga's Phone#: 800-762-2530

It finishes down loading up dates then e 66 pops up

I'm going to make a few assumptions in my solution, based on the nature of the problem you're having. First, I'm positive you're talking about an Xbox 360 console, but I'm going to infer that it's an older model without the HDMI port. Next, I'm guessing your console has a Toshiba/Samsung drive, which is the most common drive in older units. And finally, because 99% of the time this issue occurs in modified consoles, I'm pretty sure your drive has been flashed with an alternative firmware. Assuming these assumptions are true, you need to flash your drive with the original firmware. Given the nature of this particular topic, I won't go into detail on how to do that, but a couple minutes on Google will tell be more than sufficient to find that information. Once your original firmware has been restored, the update will complete successfully and you can reflash your drive with the modified firmware of choice. The problem occurs because the latest update flashes the drive with Microsoft's new firmware to allow consoles to play games using the new GDX3 media. On Toshiba/Samsung drives, the update checks the drive's firmware and doesn't recognize it as the original firmware, causing the update to fail and report an E66 hardware failure error.

Blu ray up date

PS3 has a AACS (Advanced Access Control System) is a copyright-protection technology that is used on Blu-ray Discs. The copyrighted content is protected by setting an encryption key on both the disc and the device used to play the disc.

An AACS encryption key expires in 12 to 18 months and must be renewed, so no matter if you have a new PS3 or using it already make sure you keep upgrading your PS3 firmware regularly.

There are two ways to update as listed below:

* Update via Internet
* Update via Storage Media

Download the update data directly to the system from the Internet. The latest update is automatically downloaded.

Select Settings -> System Update, Download the latest update data from the Internet. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the operation.

You also perform this system update via a storage media, Use update data saved on a disc, Memory Stick™ or other media. Download the update data from a Web site using a PC

Hope this helps, Wishing you happy holidays and happy Gaming, do remember to rate my solution

When i put a bluray dvd on my ps3 it said i need a encryption key

Create a folder on a CD or USB Thumb drive and name it PS3. within the PS3 folder, create a folder named UPDATE . Download the update and save it in the UPDATE folder. You can get the latest update via the following site: http://dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/image/us/20090624_d69362743142953be7cb44a5fd5cc888/PS3UPDAT.PUP
Be sure to save the update in the UPDATE folder (this IS case sensitive by the way) or the PS3 will not recognize the update data.
Insert your disc or usb thumb drive and go to settings, then system update at the top, then press x. Select 'update via storage media' and start the update. once completed, your system will reboot and you will be good to go.
