We should begin by ensuring where the problem is actually originating - it may be the printer, or it may be any of the many pieces of software in your setup. In order to locate the actual source of the problem (and fix it), it is generally best to go one step at a time. Let's test to see if we can isolate where the printer stands in this loop.

This step presumes that you do not have another printer handy that you would prefer to attach temporarily to test the print job, which is certainly an alternative. If you have MS Office installed with Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI), which is one of the tools within Office, you can print to that software just as if it were another printer. It should be listed in the printers as "Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer" - just choose it instead of the Lexmark. Alternatively, if you have Adobe Acrobat (full software, not just the Reader), you can print to that as well. The MODI will print to a file with an extension of .mdi and the Adobe extension will be .pdf.

If you do not have either of these pieces of software, you can download a free copy of pdf995 at www.pdf995.com. This software, which you can easily uninstall afterwards, will allow you to print to a .pdf file. At any rate, any of these programs will allow you to print a web page (or any graphic content) to a file rather than to the Lexmark. Once you have saved the file, open it to see if the file contains the graphics or if it contains text similar to the result you have been getting on the printer. The result of this exercise should be tested by printing some other web content to ensure that graphics all appear the same way when printed.

The next actual steps to resolution will be dependent on what occurs with this printing test. General matters to consider in trouble shooting would include any changes that have taken place in your system and/or overall setup recently. Have you installed SP3 for Windows XP, or performed any other updates or upgrades? Have you installed the MS .net framework 3.0, as KB944203 references printing problems that can occur after installation on XP SP2? We should be able to determine the exact source of the problem, it is just a matter of working through the steps. It may very well be as simple as installing a new driver, if there is a need to accommodate something new in your system. Unless your problem is resolved, please post back with further detail or information.

If this information assists you in resolving the problem, please take a moment to rate the solution at a "FixYa" level. If you do not feel that you can rate at a "FixYa", please post back with more information regarding what has occurred subsequently and/or more details regarding the situation, and I will gladly help you until we have reached a definitive solution. Thank you for using and rating FixYa!

Step one: Restart the computer

  1. Click Start .
  2. Click Shut Down .
  3. Click Restart or select Restart from the drop-down menu, if available.
  4. Click OK .
  5. Check the print queue, once the machine is restarted. If this step does not resolve the issue, continue to the next step.
Step two: Check the printer cable
  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  3. Leave the cable unplugged for 5-6 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the cable to the printer and computer. Ensure that the printer is connected directly to the computer through a USB cable or a powered USB hub.
  5. After reconnecting, the printer should start printing the jobs in queue. Go to step five, if you want to stop those jobs from printing. If this step does not resolve the issue, continue to the next step.
Step three: Check for the right driver and port If there is more than one printer configured on the same computer, the printer in use may not be the default printer, or the wrong driver may have been configured. Use these steps to verify the driver configuration:
  1. Click Start .
  2. Click Settings .
  3. Click Printers or Printers and Faxes .
  4. Ensure that the correct printer is set to default, denoted by a checkmark in a black circle on the icon. If the wrong printer is set to default, right-click the icon for the correct printer, and then click Set as Default .
  5. If the printer is already set to default, right-click the icon, and then click Properties .
  6. To verify that the printer is using the correct port and driver, click the Details tab. The printer should be set to use a DOT4 or the USB00X (where X is replaced by a number) port. The Print using the following driver drop-down list shows the printer driver in use.
  7. Click OK to close the Printer properties window, and then close the Printers window. If this step does not resolve the issue, continue to the next step.
Step four: Check whether the printer is paused or offline
  1. Open the Printers folder.
  2. Right-click the icon of the printer in use, and then click Open .
  3. Click Printer on the menu, and then ensure that there are no checkmarks next to Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline . If a checkmark is present on either, click the menu option to remove it. If the menu shows Use Printer Online , click that option.
  4. If neither Pause Printing nor Use Printer Offline are checked, press Esc to leave the menu without making changes. Hope this help you;
Regards,

First, before uninstalling & reinstalling anything, let's clearly identify your issue:

Are you trying to print from the web browser (since toolbar was mentioned) ?
Are you on a web-based email service (like yahoo, msn, aol, gmail) ?
Those words printed, readable email or a bunch of goobledygook's ?

Change of service (phone to broadband) does not affect that.
Browser settings do.

Hi,

With the indulgence of the others...

Alternative(s) to re-installation of drivers:

  • check your word processing software or whatever application it is your printing from. There are some with options/features that will allow only text to be printed and any images jumped over;
  • try to print a webpage (File, Print), if images are not printed likewise then possibly printer setting issue or in some instances the OS;
  • do a test print under Windows; Start, Printers & Faxes, right click on the Lexmark X75, click on Properties, click on Print Test Page button. The Windows logo should be printed on the top left.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Just uninstall/reinstall the software for the printer or better yet download the latest driver for the printer and install the latest on and that should fix the problem...

Hope that helps........

    If you have a different internet browser like Firefox better try using that, because if using firefox and its working fine so the problem here is with your internet explorer, because there's some issue with internet explorer with printing via the internet..

Click the tools menu of your internet explorer and then go to internet options and then choose the advance tab and scroll down to look for printing category and make sure the box named "print background color and images" is checked.

This could be a simple glitch in the software. Start by removing and reinstalling the Lexmark software and drivers.

    I'm still going to suggest that you start by reinstalling the software. If it's a glitch or the settings have gotten messed up, installing the software fresh will cure it.

I need lexmark X75 printer driver for window 7.

If your printer is not listed on Lexmark's web-site:

http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&id=OS3&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_CA

then either:

* the device-driver is included in Windows 7;
* Lexmark does not supply a device-driver for Windows 7.

Printer won't print

Although Lexmark has not released a Windows Vista driver for the Lexmark X75 printer, there is a good chance that Vista will support your printer without the need for installing a driver (i.e. Windows Vista probably comes with a driver for your printer already built into the operating system). Windows Vista comes with support for 2.2 million devices and since your printer is not a new model, it is likely to be supported. Just try connecting it to a computer that is running Windows Vista and see if it is detected and installed for you.

We do have the drivers for Windows 2000 and Windows XP available for download from our driver database:

You will be having a USB cable that connects the printer to your PC or notebook. I believe you have an internet connection that is always on. Once you connect the printer to the PC or notebook and if you have windows vista, the printer software will be automatically downloaded and installed. If you are not using Windows Vista, here are some links for the printer drivers.

Not printing color

sounds like what you're looking for is not in the printer, but a software issue. try going into your printer properties by either using the Lexmark software, or navigating to it by going to the windows Control panel (if you're using Windows), opening Printers (also known on XP and vista machines as Printers and Faxes), right clicking on your printer and selecting "properties"

there should be an option somewhere, if you navigate around for a bit, that allows you to change wether or not you want to print in Colour, or B&W.

Hope this helps!

Lexmark X75 no color

even though you have ink coming out of the cartridge, if it's more than a few months since it's pumped any ink, it can be clogged internally, blotting with paper doesnt always work. Try a new cartridge, or buy a new printer, it's usually cheaper now to get a whole new printer than it is to replace a set of cartridges. consider it's a few years old now

Printing problems

Uninstall every instance of AOL. Go to the tools>internet options>advacnced to se if background printing is checked. Font can be printed as small as 1024x768 on some printers. The X75 is a buggy printer and Lexmark has had several problems with this model.
