Answered

Tv will not turn on.

The TV will not turn on. It has power, the orange power light is on. But the on switch and the remote will not turn it on. There's no picture - nothing!

    For two days our L37 shut off all by it self. We'd turn it back on only for it to happen again a few minutes later. This morning we were unable to turn it on at all.

    Our L37 would not turn on this morning. Tried the remote and the push button. A green LED that usually indicates that the tv is on is always on now.

    I have power (DC Power LED is orange), but cannot turn set on (DC power LED green) with either the button on the set or the button on the remote.

    Mine too was turning itself off periodically, then ultimately went off and will not turn back on. The orange light is on, but nothing else.

My solution--bought a Samsung. Seriously!
Also, I read somewhere that it may be the powerboard and that the replacement may not be too difficult. Good luck~

I have a Vizio 37in hdtv i had the same problum i had to buy the Vizio Main board and put that in it and the TV come right on

SOURCE: No power -- TV will not turn on

This could be the power supply baord / Bad Caps/ They will be puffed up..
Or if the inverter board is bad** Inverter board lights the backlights.

why should i tell you (fixYa) how i fixed the problem for free? You wanted to charge me for your info so i think it's only fair that i charge you for mines. I did figure out and solved the problem.

SOURCE: only vizio light come on then nothing. have to unplug to turn off

there a problem on power side.. chage the ic and the resistor going to ic and check also the signal diode.

What does a orange not blinking indcator light mean?
For your TV the power light will be red when the TV is turned off using the power button on the top of the TV. Press the power button on top of the TV if that does not work then try turning the power off at the power switch on the bottom of the TV then turn it back on after a minute ior so and see if you can turn it on using the power button.

I have a blue light and an orange but my tv will not come on
If you are referring to an R15 (the big box in the picture with your post), there should be 3 blue lights on the front of the DVR: one to the far left (power), a big circle in the middle, and one on the right indicating the resolution the DVR is currently trying to send to the TV. The orange light indicates that something is being recorded; either a show or something from DTV like channel listings. The orange light has nothing to do with your TV but may indicate that the DVR is downloading setup information.

As for turning your TV on, when you first get DTV, the DVR remote does not know how to talk to your TV set, only the DVR, so you have to teach the remote to talk to your TV. To do that, turn your TV on with the remote that came with it (or the on/off switch on the TV if you're a dinosaur like me) and change the TV input to whatever input the DVR is attached to - usually HDMI or Component. If you see something (a TV show, a guide, a DirecTV logo, etc.) you're in the right place. Now hit the Menu button on the DTV remote and you'll see a menu on the left that includes "Setup". Use the arrow buttons on the DTV remote to move to Setup, press Select, and then select Program Remote. Follow those instructions carefully, step by step, and you should be all set. (Caveat: I am working from memory so the exact wording might not match and I might have missed a menu level. If so, I apologize.)

I have a hitachi 50 "plasma that was given to me
First do you see a light indicating that the TV has power? There are two power buttons on the TV (the main power and the regular power button). The red standby light will light up when the main power switch is on. This indicator is just to the left of the remote I/R sensor. You can find the main switch on the bottom front of the tv (it is under the tv forward of the stand). Turn on the Main power if it is not on. Then try the power button on the control panel of the TV again.

Does the standby light change color or blink? (Red is standby, orange is power savings (no signal), blue is on.) If the main switch is on and the standby light doesn't come on, the TV has a problem at the power supply. Try unplugging the unit for a bit (at least 30 seconds) and then plugging it back in. This will reset the internal circuitry. If you see a blinking light, then the TV is reporting a self-test failure. I do not know the codes for this model Hitachi Plasma TV.

I'm assuming you don't have one of the special versions that were intended for large audiences that were only controlled by remote (no control keys on the front of the TV). Have an Element flx2211b that I bought 3 years ago. Normally after turning on the main power, the TV's orange light comes on. I then press "all on" on the remote and TV's blue light...
The electroliytic caps on the power supply module needs change, or ust replace the power supply.

My remote for the samsung htc550 home theater system does not switch back to the set top after I have switched it to my tv. I no longer have a working remote for it and do not know how to switch it back....
Press the BD Receiver / TV button twice in quick succession. The light should now be orange which indicates it will operate the Home Cinema system....Pressing it twice again in quick succession will turn the light green indicating it will operate the TV.....Unfortunately the useless operator manual with the system does not tell you this....

This is known as SLEEP MODE problem.

Simple solutions:
1. Get a power surge protector / strip.
2. Plug your TV power cord to the power surge.
3.Then turn-on your TV using the remote control. Just in case it won't go all the way to normal state.
4. Turn-off the switch of your power surge like 5 times with an interval of 3-5 seconds.
5. Then repeat step 3 and 4.
6. These step is done to over-ride the sleep mode.
