The screen can be seen but not very bright how can i fix this?

Well i'm sorry i wasn't very clear, the screen is not working... you can see a vague resemblance of the page that should be there but you have to hold it a certain way. i have worked with it enough that i've tested the lighting and contrast but it's not it either. i think it's a hardware issue but i don't want to buy a new one. is there anything i should look for on the inside of the monitor that would be wrong and making it do this?

On the curcuit board in side there are transistors the control the back light these are most lickley the problem i have many of these that just have bad solder joints on the transistors because theyget hotter the then the solder can handle and the solder will crack causing your issue

On my Dell E193fpc monitor, the background lighting goes off after a few seconds. The actual Screen-image is still there (can be seen in bright sunlight). How can I get the backlighting to work proper

This sounds as though there might be a problem with the inverter (this is a component that supplies a high voltage for a tube(s) that illuminate the screen.

As there are high voltages on inverters, this is really a job for a repair shop.

have you made sure the video cable is plugged into the screen and the back of the computer correctly. You could also try a new video cable, because the problem may be that the wires inside the video cable have frayed. If that doesn't fix the problem you could try using a different monitor and see if you can replicate the same problem with a different monitor, if you can, the computer may have a problem with the graphics card. If you can't replicate the problem with a different monitor, it seems as though your northgate innovations monitor has developed an internal fault, if the monitor is within warranty try and get a free repair or get it replaced (if you have the receipt.

Hi, I have a monitor that shows me the red screen, you can see the picture but is at least what is seen and thought may be the vga cable or may be the LCD which is damaged. I await your quick and...

Hi There and Welcome to Fixya,

The first thing you should do is to check if the pins in your VGA cable connector (from the monitor) and make sure if they are "complete and straight" - no bent or missing pins etc. It would be best if you have another PC or Laptop to try your monitor display out so you can determine which is really the problem.

In case you experience the same issue after trying the display out from another PC, then it is evident that there's a need to replace your LCD monitor. Now, if it's the other way around, then it's quite possible that you can resolve this by :
  • Reseating/replacing your video card (if you have one)
  • Updating your video display driver
  • Reinstalling your Operating system.
  • If it's onboard video, then I would suggest to purchase a video card compatible with your motherboard as oppose to replacing the entire board which is much more expensive.
I hope this helps,

Thank you for using Fixya.

Make mic to work on desktop monitor how to do i need driver

The mic connects to the computer not the monitor. It will work if you connect it to the Mic Input port and have it set right. You may or may not need a driver.

Ist there a driver that will allow my Northgate 7nss monitor work properly with windows 7?

1.Drivers are usually given by the manufacturer to work with the latest OS (operating Systems).
Sometime Windows 7 will detect the device and input the drivers it has in it "cab files" but if not present it will prompt you to look online to the manufactures website for updates or it will ask you to run the compatibility wizard .
2. Windows 7 has an option also to run the device in another operating system mode such as Windows XP and may have the drivers stored in the "cab files" for Windows XP for example. If not the manufacturers device will not run in the Windows 7 environment.

Monitor trouble

More likely to have backlight inverter circuits failure, you need to open it up and look at caps, loose connections, burnt parts, check to see if you do have 12vdc feeding the inverter circuits. 15" monitor may not be worth fixing.

Northgate vt7v71 monitor power led will come on when i turn it on ,but get nothing on the screen . was wondering if there is a repair manual out for this monitor. have already plugged monitor into...

You have to open uo the set and check for 12vdc feeding the backlight inverter circuits, if you do have 12vdc then the inverter circuits may be bad, also look for bad caps. see example of a couple years old failed monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
