MYFI does not powerup

MYFI usually sits in home cradle. Took out of cradle to use and it had dashes all over screen. Would not power down to clear screeen. Removed battery. Screen cleared, but will not power up. AC adapter is good, does not show charge when plugged into cradle. Welcoming all ideas.

The power adapter is the problem.
I have two of these units.
The one I was using died and will no longer power on.
So, I called xm and switched to my back-up.
That one's dead, too.

I tried two adapters, four batteries and neither radio works.

BUT, I just happened to try a third adapter I had.
After re-setting the device (Take out battery, depress reset button with a pin. It's in the upper left in back. It's a VERY small hole.)

Then, I plugged the cord back in, and the battery is charging.

Apparently, the power adapters have a limited life span.

Try moving the pin in the center of the charger hole where the adpater goes in with a small screw drive. This could give it a better connection. It worked for the 2 Delhi Myfi units I own.

You may not be getting power through the base because of a bad physical connection between the base pins and the receiver, and it won't power up because it has no battery charge. Try plugging the AC power adapter directly into the bottom of the receiver (not through the cradle). Push the adapter plug toward the back of the receiver to see if the + sign on the battery on the top right of the screen shows that it is now receiving power and charging. Alternatively, with the receiver in the base, try pulling the top of the reciever toward you to tilt the receiver forward on the pins to see if it starts charging.

MYFI XM2GO WILL NOT TURN ON. ALSO WHEN I PUT IN CRADLE WILL NOT SHOW CHARGING

I had the same problem. This procedure from the "Technical Questions" section of http://shopdelphi.com/consumers/support/faqs/myfi/ worked for me:
"My MyFi won't power up, how do I reset it?
To reset your MyFi, start by turning the receiver off and removing it from its (car, home, audio system) cradle. Then remove the back cover and battery. Using a small paperclip, press the reset button located on the top left corner of the battery compartment. Now plug the AC power adapter into a wall outlet and plug the power port directly into the bottom of the MyFi (battery stays removed). Wait 10 seconds and listen for a beep. After you hear the beep the message "insert battery" will appear. Cycle the MyFi to ensure it powers up and powers down. If the power cycle is normal, then turn off the MyFi, unplug the power adapter, and reinstall the battery. Re-plug the AC power adapter directly into the bottom of the MyFi. Wait 10 seconds and listen for a beep. After the beep you will see the message "battery charging". Leave the MyFi plugged in until it's fully charged. You will see the message "charging complete" displayed. After the MyFi is fully charged, turn it on and reset to the factory defaults. Unplug the MyFi from the AC power adapter and using the battery power leave it on until it fully discharges (approximately 2-5 hours). Plug the MyFi in using the AC power adapter to recharge the unit and resume normal use. If you need help at any point during this process contact us at 1-877-463-3574 for technical support."

I hope it works for you too.

I can't get my delphi myfi sm radio to work even when I use the AC adapter on the cradle. For a while, it would work and then go off by itself. Now, it won't even go on. What's the problem?

You should: Insert your MyFi into its home stand and plug the AC adapter into the wall to charge the battery. But if its really not charging a battery replacement is already needed for this unit and you can get the battery from a authorize service center.

Leave the battery out and see. Do you have the sleep timer set, or have it set for recordings? Try a complete reset and see if that clears things up (unless you have recorded content you don't want to lose).

Make sure that this is NOT a "Sure Connect" version that has a very weak FM transmitter, but the older original model with a bland box. Make sure no earphone is plugged-in, then go to the menu and set the FM frequency and set the FM output level and you should be all set..

Replace the battery. Your Myfi will not work without it -- even if it is plugged into the charger.

I posted on this myself looking for solutions, and then discovered the solution my self. The base pin connectors at the bottom of the receiver apparently become loose, and in order to make a good connection you need to push/pull the top of the receiver forward to achieve a connection. In the car cradel, I do this by jamming something between the receiver and cradel at the top to force and hold it forward). In the home base, I pull it forward at the top, and prop it that way with something heavy behind it. No one ever posted on how to take the unit apart and actually fix the loose connection.

Radio works in the car cradle but not in the house cradle.
