My dyson DC 59 Motorhead works fine for a period of time then just quits. The run time seems unusually short and does not slowly lose power but stops abruptly. What is the problem?

Modern lithium Ion rechargeable batteries don't slow down as they discharge, they run full appliance and then just boom they are dead. You need a new battery

Why does the suction stop after 10 minutes of use on my Dyson DC43?

Your vacuum may be overheating and shutting off the suction motor. Clean the cyclone assembly and the filters to see if they could be restricting the airflow.

My Dyson DC28 works fine for a minute then it's like if the brush head gets too much resistance it quits spinning and the light starts flashing. When I turn the vacumn off then back on it's f

Hi Gayle,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC28. From what you've described, it sounds as if you may have the brushbar set at a level too low for the type of carpeting you're cleaning. If you select a higher carpet setting from the selector pad, you should find this resolves the issue.

However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, please call us free on 1-866-693-9766 - or if you email your details to askdysonUS@dyson.com, someone will be in touch as soon as possible to help.

Best wishes,

My dco7 quits running after 10 min I wait 15 min to start again

This is a sure sign of a blockage. The motor cuts out because it gets too hot and will start again when it has cooled. Follow the instructions in your user manual for clearing blockages (you can download a copy from the Dyson website if necessary). Make sure the washable filter is clean too (and completely dry before you use it).

Dyson dc7 quits after a few minutes running; runs again after an hour or two of rest. Filters are clean, beater bar is clean, can't tell about the airways because I can't see how to get to them.

Check the ducts with a small object(screw or something with a little weight)down the ducts to verify they are clean. Also check the Ubend on the back bottom of the unit. Looks just like a U. Remove with a turn of the tab by a screwdriver or quarter. Let me know if the issues still exists.

Dyson

the automatic cut out switch on the motor needs replacing when the motor gets hot this switch comes in and stops the motor from overheating when the motor cools down the cleaner will work again and cut out again when the motor gets hot if it is not replaced it will eventually burn the motor out after the switch has been replaced both the filter and cyclone need to be cleaned on a regular basis or the same will happen again
