Question about Toshiba 42H81 42" Rear Projection Television

Toshiba 42h81 no power

I tested the voltage on power up to see if any is present in the first few seconds and have found no voltage. from the relay i get 2 fast clicks then a 3rd. the 3rd i belive is the power on. when you plug it in it the power light comes on automatically on 3rd click.
and again no power from tuner shield to any of the fuses both sides

The third is likely B+ and having failed that no Hv will be present... It's likely in the convergence circuit. Do a continuity test of F850 and F851 (5a), F470 (2a) and F890 (3.15a). If any of those are open trace back along the +16v line to the convergence Ics and make sure everything is well soldered. Then check R482 (270 ohm) for value. If out suspect Z801 the divider and replace R482. If that isn't the problem suspect the convergence Ic's and/or the yoke return resistors.

  • Headlamp switch.

  • Yes - REPAIR circuit 12 (LG/BK), 161 (DG/OG), or 160 (DB/WH) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.

    No - REINSTALL the fuses. If equipped with daytime running lamps (DRL), GO to F3 .

    If not equipped with DRL, GO to F6 .

Won't start new motor


Is it carved or efi??If efi do this::locate your throttle body,pull the air intake hose loose from the throttle body,spray starting fluid or carb cleaner into the throttle body opening, push the hose back onto the throttle body then try to start the car.If it starts & runs for a few seconds then dies,you've got a No Fuel problem.If it doesn't start at all,you've got a No Spark problem.If its a no fuel issue,turn the key on & listen for the fuel pump priming sound.If you don't hear it,check for a blown fuel pump fuse,defective fuel pump relay,a defective computer power relay or a tripped inertia switch.If they're OK,disconnect the harness at the fuel pump,turn the key on and use a voltmeter to test for battery voltage.If voltage is present,the pump is bad.If voltage isn't present,but its present at the fuel pump relay harness, there's most likely a short/open in the wiring harness between the FP relay & pump.You didn't list your vehicle info,so I'm unsure of which type ignition you've got.
Most no starts on a new engine are caused by a ground wire you forgot to connect,wiring harness not plugged in or a timing issue.

Winshield wiper delay intermitent module making noises


The wiper delay is in the steering column. It's a small box about 2 x 2 inches with a wiring harness attached. With the testing procedures I found below, you should be able to figure it out. I found wiper delays on eBay for around $10 to $20. Good luck.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS CHEROKEE, COMANCHE & WAGONEER 1. POWER INPUT Remove circuit breaker. Test battery side of circuit breaker. If battery voltage is not present, repair open to splice. Test across circuit breaker terminals. Tester reading should be zero (0) ohms. If not, replace circuit breaker. 2. GROUND Connector A unplugged. Test terminal G. Tester reading should be zero (0) ohms. If not, repair open to ground. 3. INTERMITTENT WIPERS Ignition switch in ACCY. Remove delay module and plug connectors together from the module. If wiper operate in LO and HI speed modes and mist (washer) is working, if wipers and mist operate, replace intermittent module. If not go to step 4. 4. WIPER/WASHER SWITCH Ignition in RUN, wiper switch position as indicated, back probe switch side of connector A for standard, connector B for intermittent: Test connector terminal E-wiper switch in LO and mist/intermittent. If battery voltage is not present, replace switch. test connector terminal C-wiper switch in HI. If battery voltage is not present, replace switch. Test connector terminal F-wiper switch to OFF. If battery voltage is present until wipers stop and then voltage drops to zero (0), system is working fine. If this does not occur, replace switch. 5. INTERMITTENT WIPERS Connector B unplug. Test across terminal A and D while rotating switch from minimum to maximum delay. If tester reading is not between 0-500 ohms, replace switch. Test across terminal A and G while rotating switch from minimum delay to maximum delay. If tester reading is between 0 and 500 ohms, replace wiper module. If not replace switch. 6. WIPER MOTOR Ignition in ACCY, wiper switch position as indicated, probe connector D. Test connector terminal 1. If resistance is no zero (0) ohms,repair open to ground. Test connector terminal 4-wiper switch in any position. If battery voltage is present, replace motor. if is not repair open from fuse panel. Test connector terminal 2-wiper switch in LO. If battery voltage is present, replace motor. If not , repair open from wiper switch. Test connector terminal 2-wiper switch in HI. If battery voltage is present, replace motor. If not , repair open from wiper switch. Test connector terminal 5-wiper switch OFF with voltmeter connected. If battery voltage is present until wipers stop and then voltage drops to zero, system is OK, replace motor. If not, repair open from wiper switch.

First, with microwave still installed, gain access to the control board and check for voltage from the fan relay. If you are not getting voltage from the fan relay on the control board, and your display says fan is on, then you need a new control board.If voltage is present and the wiring that you can see looks good, then you will have to take the unit down and test for voltage at the fan itself. If the voltage is present there, then test the motor itself and/or start capacitor for the motor. The fan motor assembly will slide out of the top of the unit after you take it down and unscrew 2 screws. Below, in the list of component testing, you will see how to test the motor and start

Won't be any cheaper if you go looking and you'll probably get sold some chinese knock-offs anyway... It sounds like you'll need to replace the convergence amps, both STK392-110 Sanyo originals. Also the tech will test the yoke return path circuits and the resistors therein... Likely s/he'll find that one or more has change slightly in value and change those as well for a more reliable repair...

Check power supply for open micro fuse{s}-- If the fuses for the convergence circuits B+ are open,replace convergence IC,s and fuse devices.Then perform re-alignment in servicer mode.test run.Don't forget--PVAT! solder any/all bad connections.
