You may need to have the speakers replaced but first take the phone and have the phone tested to accurately determined what is the matter

I bought a pair of HP headphones and when I plugged them in they installed themselves. They worked fine for a while, but for some reason they stopped working. When I unplugged the headphones, I realized...

no computer listed, no OS stated, now THAT is a challenge. no?
this is common
it causes the system to have 2 sounds systems
that head phone is not that, its Head phones and a USB sound chip. (2 sounds systems are there now)

so you have 2 choices. (confuses me wife too)
1:; in device manager turn off the PC sound car, "disable it"
2: or learn how to run both using the sound, applit in the task stray.

right click speaker icon in tray
the pick (windows10) play back device
and last pick (which one you want now, new heads or stock speaker)

Subwoofer problem

Hi there,

The distortion you are experiencing could be due to a few things,

Drivers for the device,ie the latest updates applied recently,
This may affect the performance of the units functionality.

The cables not being connected properly, poor signals and connections,

The source from where you original sound signals came from,
ie,over recorded source, too loud for the system speakers to reproduce the correct tones,
this is dangerous to speakers and the listerners hearing comfort too,

The simplist way to check your speakers are ok is to check them on another system with a similar sound device,or plug a set of head phones into you creative 4.1 output on a low volume,
is there a signal output to your head phones???

The most comon form of distortion is the equaliser setting on the original source output, turn it down to help eliminate the frequency your looking for and the adjust EQ to suit your comfort zone.

Apart from this will be unplug each zone and test individually,
should be a quick and painless solution,

Microphone feedback can damage speakers too,,,,,,

If the distortion remains try different speakers on the output.

Hope this helps , MISTERDJ

Hi my speakers on my toshiba p300 16t have suddenly stopped working all i get now is a hissing sound as if the voloume was turned to the max with no sound playing when i play a music track or video i get...

Well you either blew out the speakers or you sound card is having issues. If headphones are not working, than if might be the sound card. If you have a friend that will let you borrow their laptop for a little to move their sound card into yours to see if it is your sound card that is broken, otherwise you can call customer service for the brand laptop you have, but they are no help at all and they usually barely speak english.
