Question about Sony KP-51WS510 51" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
You mentioned a specific problem for the previous person's symptom, how did you know that is what was causing it? I saw another blog showing how to use the remote for self diagnostics - is that how you know?
If your FBT was bad you would not even get no flashes, set will only click , sony has a high voltage capacitor located next to hori output transistor small blue 1200pf 2,000 volts 2k most of them develop small pin hole causing set to shut down.Hori output could also be shorted.FBT is gray in color has 2 wires coming out of top of it red&black one lead goes to high voltage trippler other goes to focus&screen control block.
