Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Installing Hardware I am using Windows XP Home. I tried to install my new phone but the add hardware wizard stated that there was a problem and the device would not work with the computer. I have since tried to install a webcam but have got the sme message. I have recently purchased an 8G Flashdrive. When I plug in to the USB the same thing happens. All of my other hardware works perfectly well, IPOD, Printer and digital camera.

The printer driver can be downloaded from the printer manufacture's WEB site.

Code 41
Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)
Recommended resolution

A driver was loaded but Windows cannot find the device. This error occurs when Windows does not detect a non-Plug and Play device.

If the device was removed, uninstall the driver, install the device, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver. If the hardware was not removed, obtain a new or updated driver for the device.

If the device is a non-Plug and Play device, a newer version of the driver might be needed. To install non-Plug and Play devices, use the Add Hardware wizard. Click Performance and Maintenance on Control Panel, click System, and on the Hardware tab, click Add Hardware Wizard.

On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.

Installing new memory

I would take it back to the Geek Squad.

If you want to fix it yourself, you need to get the drivers. Search your system for the driver file name it is looking for and then, point the installation wizard to that folder and let it load the drivers. Typically, drivers will be loaded in C:\Windows\System32

I bought a new Hp Photmart C4200 printer today and can't install the hardware. It says software you are installing for this hardware has no windows Logo to verify with windows xp which I have (...

Try goig to start>printers and faxes>add a printer. When the wizard opens up, just click next, When it asks if you want it to search for a driver say yes and make you internet selected as place to search. It should find certified driver. Let me know how it turns out. Don't rate it yet if it didn't work. If it fixed please rate this is fixed. If you need more help just add a commment. Be happy to oblige. Thanks.

Soundcard in XP

Try manually installing it by using the Add New Hardware wizard. Make sure all other soundcard(s) are deleted from Device Manager first, though. Another thing you can try- Boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager, remove/delete any and all instances of sound card hardware you find, reboot and see if Windows re-detects.
