It doesn't print. Showed to printer repair agency which deals with lexmark printers but they say that the fuser is not available for this printer.

SOURCE: Seems to jam in fuser, fuser has been replaced

if it always jams at the same place (fuser area) try another fuser or check the BLACK PLASTIC ASSY. THAT is mounted in the left door and takes the paper right after it comes out of the fuser ;part is called (PAPER DIVERTER) And sometimes one of the FLAPS That routes the paper is broken, hence causing paper jam.

Some of the springs came off the rollers and a small broken piece of support for roller-do i need to get a whole new fuser assembly?

if you found a spring from the fuser and a flat blade like piece of black plastic this would be a detach finger and tension spring all fusers have the they help prevent the paper from rolling up on the fuser roller. fusers have either 5 or 6 depending on the model.they will funtion muinus one of these. if you get regular paper jams in the fuser of if they start replace fuser

Making a cracking noise from the fuser unit area

I'm assuming that the cracking noise occurs as the printed page is passing through the fuser?

Check your print settings to ensure that your paper stock is not set to heavy (card). This setting applies extra heat to the fuser to 'fuse' the text to the paper, which is what you want for card, but if you are printing normal stock, it will overheat the toner causing it to stick to the fuser roller on the way through and make a 'cracking' sound as the paper peels off the roller.

Whilst it is possible that there is a fault with the thermostat and the fuser heater is not switching off, this is rare. If you have been printing a number of pages at an incorrect paper stock setting you may need to clean baked text of the upper fuser roller, in which case, apply the following procedure.

After switching off the pirnter and it has had time to cool you may be able to clean the upper fuser roller with a rag moistened with a little methylated spirit, although you will not be able to rotate the roller fully without removing the fuser assembly from the printer. If the roller is physically damaged however, eg. scoured, cleaning will not resolve the problem, the roller will need to be replaced. This usually occurs after a long life, so it is generally best to install a new or reconditioned fuser (includes new rollers, top and bottom and new heat lamp).

I keep on getting burnt streaks on my prints and words from the print in the background its hideous

The heated roller in the fuser is what will transfer this to your page. After switching off the pirnter and it has had time to cool you may be able to clean it with a rag moistened with a little methylated spirit, although you will not be able to rotate the roller fully without removing the fuser assembly from the printer. If the roller is physically damaged, eg. scoured, cleaning will not resolve the problem, the roller will need to be replaced. put an old or new toner cartridge in it to see if the double imaging goes away. If it is still there its the fuser. I can help you with that if you need supplies for the fuser. Steven 818-888-0006

Brother MFC 7420. New Brother Toner, New Drum, cleaned feed and separator rollers, changed paper, still jamming. Paper stuck around brown fuser roller. What can I do next?

Check whether the fuser rollers are free turning. If the paper is stopped at the ejection roller, the ejection roller needs to be replaced.

Paper will not go through output rollers - jams at crumples

ok, in this case you need do:
1) check the roller before the fuser and after it some roller old not enough firction and pressure balance
2) check the fuser press roller it could not has good tough to fuser surface, it should be no gap at all and good pressure balance on the fuser surface
3) check the fuser cleaner which maybe too dirty, or change new one if you have the parts.
4) fuser unit maybe too old if printing pagers over its life cycle
hope this help you and please ask me any time.

Upper (gray) fuser roller needs replacing, (tear on 1 side).

If you are handy it is not hard to replace the upper fuser roller you will need a small phillips screwdriver and pliars

the fuser lamp goes through the fuser roler so youmust disconnect the power leads to the lamp and remove the lamp

You do have to release the back side of the drive
gear on the fuser roller

when you install the new roller be sure to put some silicone fuser oil on the cleaning pad

take your time good luck
