Is one of the 2 phones transformer plugged into a power strip? If so, try putting it directly into the wall, most power strips do not pass the signal properly

you need to have all the phones linked to the same wiring. for example, i just got mine working after working on it for some time. i had 2 of my phones hooked directly into my FIOS box and the other 2 were hooked into a remote location of the building. even though my thinking says they should be able to talk to one another, they couldnt. they have to be completely wired to the same wiring system with no interuptions so they can find each other in the network. then to use the intercom system, all you have to do is press 1-16 on your speed dial to reach out to the desired location

These phones have a limit of 600 feet for line length for the intercom to work. At 2000 feet there is no voltage left to trigger the intercom or transmit the voice. You will have to add a centralized power source between them to get the intercom working. However you may have another problem with all of that wire acting as a antenna you may hear cross talk or radio chatter.

The phone may have the same extension as another phone in the system. Unplug it from the power and take out the battery for a minute. Then plug it back in. It should take a moment to find other phones on the system and assign itself an extension number.
You may also have a line reversed on that phone. Check to see if line 1 is line 1 on all of the phones. Then line 2, 3 & 4.
Another thing to check is the DSL filter. That phone may need a filter on the line to keep your DSL from interferring. If it has one replace it.
