How to deactivate parental control

Hi Ida,

If you don't have the password to deactivate partental control you can do the following:

Power on TV, Press MENU and select "Parental Controls". Simultaneously press the CH+ and VOL+ buttons on the front panel of the TV for 8 seconds.

An on screen box should appear, select a new password if desired or leave blank for no parental control lock.

Hope this helps, Gary

RCA D52W20 Does not power on- what to check for?

Hi, if the capacitor has bulged out then its likely to have taken out a fuse on the board, they are not obvious to find as they surface mount them, they look like resistors, often a white body with a number on it eg, 5 for 5amps. With the power off, check around the componets for open resistance, set your meter at 10 or 100 ohms, analogue meters are better than digital for this analysis. Watch out for capacitance as ther could be several hundred volts stored in the circuit.

I can't read the OHMs on a resister in my panisonic tv (pt-51hx41e) resister board # is R7053

I suggest you take it out or just disconnect only one leg and measure the resistance by a multimeter/AVO-meter. If you test it in-circuit you might not get the actual resistance because some other component might interfere with the measuring process! By the way just to mention, there are expensive instruments that are capable of measuring the resistance in-circuit (you could use it if you have one)!

wish you success!

Replaced Convergence IC's and now no power

is this a typo-replaced Stk392-120 with Stk394-160 because you cannot interchange to that number IC you can go to a STK392-160 also you cannot check resistors in circuit because you will get the resistance from the circuits around them you have to lift one leg out of circuit to test them.if you need further help or further information pls let me know
